Giorgio Aurispa, il protagonista del romanzo, è un Superuomo annoiato dall'esistenza insulsa e mediocre dei suoi simili, ed è quindi impegnato in una continua ricerca di un nuovo senso della vita e di una perfezione spirituale fondata sull'autodominio.
