RITA Award Winner, Best Novel with Strong Romantic Elements, 2009

Finally out of the celebrity spotlight and away from her mother's demands, Cilla is free to do what she loves: fixing up houses for profit. But her current project is personal. The Shenandoah Valley farm house was once the vacation home of Hollywood luminary Janet Hardy, Cilla's grandmother.

When Cilla uncovers a stash of her grandmother's private letters, and begins asking questions about the past, she becomes the target of a crazed killer who's determined to keep family secrets buried no matter what the cost.

Not one of Nora’s best. Weak story line and not much plot to this story at all.

Disappointing

I have read and enjoyed several books by Nora Roberts, but this was my first audio book by her and I found the voices of some characters offputting, and was constantly confused as to who was who. I found myself transposing it in my head to a print image (a bit like reading in a foreign language! however I am not good at languages)

ok

I really enjoyed this book. The plot was engaging and most of the character well made, excluding couple that coud also be seen as caricatures. The only minuses to me were that the ending felt slighly hurried and unfinised and the plot leaned little too much on the housebuolding and renovation. All in all very goid choise to those who enjoy stories with romance and mystery elements

Not the best but not the worst!

Story is ok, performance: never again…. So difficult to understand… Listeners to this kind of audiobooks often do s’y else. Here it was almost impossible.

Awful performance

Dreadful performance but reasonable story although not up to Nora’ usual standard. Too much building stuff!

Fine if you like building houses
