Summary

I survived my first semester at the Academy of Unpredictable Magic. Apparently, the universe took that as a challenge....

For years, Unpredictables have been brushed aside by the rest of the magical community. Now, people are starting to pay attention - and I’m not entirely sure that’s a good thing.

I’ve always been content to fly under the radar, but now that we’ve been invited to participate in the inter-academy trials, the entire school will be in the spotlight.

As if trying to sort out my feelings for the four insanely gorgeous men who all want to date me wasn’t enough, now I’m juggling magical games, deadly plots, unexpected allies, and notoriety I never asked for.

All right, second semester. Do your worst.

Trials is the second book in the Academy of Unpredictable Magic series, a medium-burn reverse harem story intended for ages 18 and up, featuring a badass chick and the four sexy men who fall in love with her.

So good

Elliott survived her first semester only to find out they have to take part in inter academy trials. She tries out not expecting to win but she does and she has to represent her academy. As usual things in her life are never easy and there’s forces out trying to stop her winning at any cost .

Paranormal Academy Reverse Harem

Trials by Sadie Moss is a medium-burn paranormal academy reverse harem romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Sarah Puckett. This is the second book in the Academy of Unpredictable Magic series.

This series just keeps getting better and better. Sadie always does a great job pulling me into the story. I really enjoyed the inter-academy trials that Elliot had to participate it. I was hooked and couldn't wait to see what she would be put through next.

I really enjoyed the relationship blooming between Elliot, Cam, Asher, Roman, and Dimitri. I love that Elliot may have four men in her life but they support her and let her be the strong independent woman that she is.

I can't wait to dive into the next book in the series Thief so I can get more of Elliot and her men's story.

Sarah did an amazing job on the narration! I love that she uses different voices/tones for each character. It really brings the story to life.

I would recommend this book to anyone who loves paranormal romances, academy romances, or reverse harems.

My Thoughts on Trials

Book two in this thrilling paranormal reverse harem romance series was intense. I found myself unable to stop listening so many times, no matter how much the outside world called to me. I was happy to see the relationship between Elliot and her men progress. And the way it was done was perfect. Not everything needs to go at the same pace with everyone. The way this was done seemed more likely, and totally enjoyable. The inter-academy games was a really good plot point and was well written. The ending was quite a nail biter and has me desperate for book three.

Sarah Puckett was once again fantastic in this story. She continues to bring great tonal range and emotion to the characters and I look forward to continuing this series with her.

Liked it.

I liked the story, but not as much as the first. Still a good read, though, and I’m loving the growing relationship between Elliott and the guys. However, I feel it’s going way too with Dmitri.

Fantastic

Audiobook review

Yay for Book 2! I was eager to start it after finishing book 1, and it didn't disappoint. I enjoy getting to more about the guys and how their relationship with Elliot develops more, even though she is still afraid of getting herself into a relationship, she´s opening herself a little more and letting them in.
The trials were really great, and frustrating at the same time. I love seeing how her guys always have her back and how she didn't back up even when all of the odds were against her. I honestly didn't see that ending coming. Now I can't wait for book 3.

The narration was perfect, just as with book 1. Sarah Puckett delivers a great performance with her different voices, her tone, paced, and the way she makes you feel everything the characters are experiencing.

Boy everything happens at the academy.

I’m going to start off by saying Sarah does a brilliant job of making all of the characters come to life. It is so easy to distinguish between them when listening to her work.

The second book in the series shows that more unpredictable things are happening at The Academy and they involve the heroine Elliott. I’m hoping that her harem of guys become more involved like the first book in the next one. This book we’re learning more about the guys. Steamier sex times in this book, especially now that they know that sharing Elliott is on the table.

Can’t wait for the next book!

Trials and Magic

The Trials was thrilling and kept you on your toes. This is a great series and I love the dynamics of the reverse harem. Each man is very different in there personality and actions, but they all was there to help Elliot through out the story. I love Sarah Puckett and I Love her in this too.

Not as great as the first book but still enjoyable

I didn't love this one as much as I loved the first book. Elliot won the chance to play in the Trials between all the different magic schools. It's the first time the unpredictable magic school was able to have a participant. So it was a big deal.. but Elliot stress me the heck out. She was soooooo worried about letting the school down. All she did was whine about how she wasn't good enough and I was so annoyed!

I loved that we got to know her boys more but Elliot just annoyed me in this book.

The hits just keep coming!

Just like the first book this one is full of mystery, action and steamy romantic tension. I'm really loving this series. The storyline and characters are written so well. The slow burn romance is killing me with its sexual tension in the best way. I can't wait for book 3!

Sarah Puckett how do I love the? Let me count the ways...... You really are one of my absolute favorite narrators. <3

I Will Keep Coming Back

Once again Ms. Moss and Ms. Puckett provide an excellent experience for the reader. This book is even better than the first as we learn more about the characters and the world in which they live. Through a magical competition, we learn more about both the magic that is available and the strengths and weaknesses of the characters. I also love that the tension between the characters is starting to make itself known to the other characters, thus adding more tension.

This is my first RH novel so it will be interesting to see how this plays out. The possibility of so many relationships at once is foreign to me. Ms. Moss’ writing keeps me engaged and interested to learn more for these characters. I can’t wait to read more!

I was provided with a free copy of this audio book for my honest review. The views expressed here are entirely my own.

I’m half and half with this was. Great read though!!

I love this book series, SOOO MUCH! But this book idk. Don’t get me wrong it was a REALLY good book, there were twists and turns and lots of steamy romance with just enough mean girl. But it just felt super rushed I wanted more detail and just a longer story line. I know there’s more to the series but the book it self just needed more detail for me. A LOT more detail. I still recommend this book to others because I feel like the series itself is going to be amazing, it just didn’t make the cut for me as much as the first book.

Outstanding Story & Narration🎧Action-Packed & Hot🔥

This is a great book and I loved everything about it, from Sadie Moss’s writing style to the storylines and characters she created to the wonderful narration performed by Sarah Puckett. This book brings us to Elliot’s second semester at the Academy of Unpredictable Magic. The Unpredictables have always been frowned upon by the magical community, but after last semester’s incident that may be changing. They have been invited to participate in a competition with the other schools of Magic and they will be hosting the event. The best students from each school participate in these trials, each challenge is kept secret until the day of the competition. A great concept and way for the unpredictables to be recognized by others. I love how the relationship between Elliot, Asher, Cam and Dmitri continues to develop things are starting to heat up for them. Also love their protectiveness of her and her relationship with Roman, which is smoking. He has a great perspective on the other guys in her life too. This is an action packed book, there is never a dull moment with plenty of drama, twists, angst, thrilling suspenseful moments that brings you to the edge of your seat as well as some hot romance. Sadie Moss, thank you for another great story & series, I am looking forward to what comes next for these wonderful characters.

I listened to the Audible edition, Sarah Puckett is an awesome narrator and voice performer. She continues to bring these characters and their story to life. She give each their own unique voice and personality, as well as heart and attitude. I love her portrayal of these characters, her Elliott was spot on, badass with moments of vulnerability. Also love her male voices and how different each sound, making it easy to follow the characters. Sarah is an entertaining storyteller and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another great listen🎧

A grown-up academy book

I really enjoy this grown-up academy book. The characters are old enough that I don't feel icky reading about their romantic adventures. I really enjoyed this sassy heroine and her multiple love interests as they battle through obstacles in this fun fantasy novel. There's just something extra special when you through a teacher in the mix.

2nd Semester

For years the bigotry and racism towards pers with unpredictable magic has been socially acceptable in the magical community. When Elliot has been selected to participate to represent the Academy in the inter-academy games she cringes at the spotlight and focus thrust upon her.

As if struggling survive the mean girl attacks, and understanding dead students aren't enough Elliot is is used to hiding her emotions and is forced to sort out her feelings for the 4 gorgeous men who all want to date her.

Book 2 is definitely better than book 1 IMO - the characters are better developed and there is more substance to the plot -

Another great installement

In the second installment Elliot gets ready for the trials and the competition and romance heat up. We dive deeper into their emotional relationships in this book. Sadie Moss gives us another action packed installment and look into the Academy life. Sarah brings everything to live and does an amazing job narrating. I don't want to give an spoiler and I fear I am not doing this book (series) justice. Just read it and you will love it. # Audio Obsession Review
