Story
For 300 years, The Pilgrim's Progress has remained perhaps the best-loved and most read of devotional fictions. In plain yet powerful and moving language, Bunyan tells the story of Christian's struggle to attain salvation and the Gates of Heaven. He must pass through the Slough of Despond, ward off the temptations of Vanity Fair, and fight the monstrous Apollyon. In Part II, his wife and children follow the same path, helped and protected by Great-heart, until for them, too, "the trumpets sound on the other side."

At one time, Corrie ten Boom would have laughed at the idea that she had a story to tell. For the first 50 years of her life, nothing out of the ordinary ever happened to her. She was a spinster watchmaker living contentedly with her sister and their elderly father in the tiny house over their shop in Haarlem. Their uneventful days, as regulated as their own watches, revolved around their abiding love for one another. But with the Nazi invasion and occupation of Holland, everything changed....

Summary
Annette knows she can never forgive Lucien for what he did to Dani, and she is going to make sure that no one else does either. She is so filled with rage that she sets out to alienate and humiliate Lucien at every turn. But then some surprising things begin to happen to both of them.
Patricia St.John's stories are classics of their time and have been enjoyed by generations of children. This edition of Treasures of the Snow combines her superb skill as a storyteller with language sensitively adapted to a new generation of children.

Powerful, moving story
I read this book when I was a child and it made a big impression on me, so it was fascinating to be re-united with the story and good to be reminded of the spiritual truths it highlights.

A Delight
I am periodically on the lookout for an audiobook that can be enjoyed by the whole family and is appropriate for the whole family. My two daughters and I listened to this book while on a road trip and we all enjoyed it very much. It was interesting to hear about life in Switzerland in the 1930s. The characters were interesting and the book imparted good values.

Our #1 favorite Christian children's novel
I wish this version were the original unabridged novel (Mary Mills has recently condensed most of Patricia St. John's books), but it's still so very good, and the story is beautiful and powerful. I've read it out loud to my children twice, and am thrilled that we now have this as a permanent audiobook and can listen at will. The reader has a lovely British accent that just seems right. Please don't miss this one! If you haven't seen the movie, look that up as well.

Great story; not so great on Audible
The Chapters are not clearly marked in accordance with the book. It's really hard to find a specific place. It's read well, though, and the story itself is well worth reading.

what a heart worming book
I loved listening to this story. It was so true to children's mistakes and thoughts. I was crying and laughing and cross. I only would have liked the story to be longer. I will be researching this author and see what else I can listen/read from her.
100 stars! not only 5.
