Summary

On a busy Washington morning, the stately calm of the White House is shattered in a deadly terrorist attack on the executive mansion. The president is evacuated to an underground bunker, but not before nearly 100 hostages are taken.

Mitch Rapp, the CIA’s top counterterrorism operative, is sent in to take control of the crisis and determines that the president is not as safe as Washington’s power elite had thought. Indeed, Rapp has made a chilling discovery that could rock Washington to its core: someone within his own government wants his rescue attempt to fail.

Hear Mitch Rapp, the CIA's top operative, battle global terrorism in more of Vince Flynn's political thrillers.

Critic reviews

"Endless intrigue... Flynn mixes in a spicy broth of brutal terrorists, heroic commandos, and enough secret-agent hijinks to keep the confrontation bubbling until its flag-raising end." ( Publishers Weekly)
" Transfer of Power emerges in its sense of authenticity, depth of research, and almost seamless dramatic scenario....One of Flynn's finest skills as an up-and-coming young master of the genre of political thrillers is his ability to create a cast of compelling characters." ( Bookpage)

Insufferable

No chance I could ever finish listening to this. The story could have been OK but there was no way I could stand the narrator's accent. Quite put off audible as this was my first audiobook.

Change the narrator

Good book, but the narration lets it down unfortunately. Previous books in the series were far superior.

Didn't enjoy this performance.

The story was fantastic but this performer let it down with a ton of mistakes.

Great story: average performance!

Reilly pronounced "Really".........really? It's merely an alternative spelling for the standard Irish name. The mispronouciation was a distraction throughout. This added to a lack of emotion and emphasis made the performance just adequate. The only time the narrator became a little more animated was during action scenes at which point he ascended to the dizzy heights of "okay".

So much better than the abridged version!

Mitch Rapp gets tangled up in a terror attack on the White House.

Narration is OK most of the time.

Gripping

And again Mitch Rapp delivers. What a great listen. I feel the story did not have to go on for 13 hours though. This is probably very subjective. Great narration by Nick Sullivan. It took a little getting used to but throughly enjoyed listening to Nick’s voice.

REALY!!!!

Good story but the narrator is terrible, sometimes sounds more like an auto reader.. I’m glad to get this finished as I can’t stand the narrator...

Brilliant!!!

I don’t normally write reviews but felt I had to on this occasion. The book grips you from the beginning. I will certainly be reading more of Vince Flynn’s books.
