Summary

My name is Rylee, and I am a Tracker.

When children go missing, and the Humans have no leads, I'm the one they call. I am their last hope in bringing home the lost ones. I salvage what they cannot. A missing girl and a deadly item belonging to a power-mad demon need to be found before the killing begins.

The problem? This is my first salvage. And I have no idea what I'm doing. These were the moments that began to define me, my skills, and my drive to face down the darkest side of the supernatural in order to bring children home. This is where my journey began....

Tracking Magic is a prequel to the Rylee Adamson series.

Great

I really enjoyed finding out how Rylee found out what she was capable of . I had no idea Millie was as vindictive at the start as she was in later books.

INCLUDED Great Prequel

I'm re reading the Rylee and Elemental series. I was very pleased to see many of the Rylee books INCLUDED in the new Audible membership plan.
The story focuses on a forgotten part of Rylee's past, the betrayal of her first meeting Milly. Although very short it was a great prequel and put a few pieces in place for later.
I do prefer Emma Galvin to Lauren Fortgang as the Narrator for the Rylee book. Lauren is a great Narrator and did a fine job with this book but Emma did the 1st several books and I think I may have just grown attached to how she voiced everyone.

Great prequel to the Riley Adamson series.

Short but succinct story. I enjoyed this short story. It was interesting to learn about Riley and Millie in the beginning of their relationship.

I loved this!

Well hello my friendly little novella. I swear with each book of novella Shannon writes my love for Rylee and this series grows ten fold. It's a fantastic adventure in the pages of each book or novella. You get to dive into Rylee's world and explore, bringing back more knowledge than you had before.

See where it all began... and of course be prepared for some shenanigans.

A small taste.

I like the sample hour of Rylee’s beginning; it was interesting enough to try the first book in the series. Narrator was good, didn’t like all the voices, but in general not bad. I did pick up the last books that were included in the Audible membership freebies. I just need to get the first 3 which luckily you can get with one credit.

Short and Gripping

This prequel was so packed I had to listen to it over and over to pull out as much of the threads as possible. This is the beginning of an epic tale and friendship...

Okay, there are better series

I love Shannon Mayer and Lauren Fortgang, so I was excited to see this series. However, I often found myself losing interest in this book. Both my husband and I enjoyed the Forty Proof Series and hoped it would be similar. While it does have a magical sense to it, it doesn't hold our interest.

Boatload of Fx introduces mouthy trainee

Over a dozen Fx, plus an assortment of other cuss words was the most striking part of the prequel introducing Rylee, a guilt ridden teen who’s some sort of highly desirable supernatural being. My favorite thing was the narrator. Unfortunately, this narrator doesn’t narrate books 1-8 and reviewers say the narrator for those books makes Rylee sound really young. I don’t think I’ll be moving on to a book full of a cussing tween, subpar dialogue and eye-rolling plots where this tween is some sort of uber powerful super-supernatural.
