Summary

Lacey Adams lives in the small town of Magic, New Mexico, where she devotes herself to the animals at her Touch of Magic Animal Shelter. The strange assortment of animals helps heal the pain and loneliness inside her since the death of her husband three years before.

Frost is a Star Ranger. He travels the star systems, bringing intergalactic fugitives to justice. When a maximum-security fugitive escapes from the mining prison, he is sent after him. Only this time, the fugitive has violated a major law… he has traveled to a distant forbidden planet inhabited by a race that has not mastered space travel yet. Now, he is in a race to find the fugitive before those on the planet known as Earth discover there are not one, but two aliens on their world. Things become complicated when Frost discovers his heart is not as frozen as he thought when a young human female is taken hostage by the fugitive. What he doesn’t anticipate is her unexpected resistance – both to the fugitive and to him.

Frost is forced to make a decision that is guaranteed to put him on the most wanted list when he follows his heart and kidnaps Lacey. He knows that some things are worth the risk. What he doesn’t know is that Lacey has a few secrets of her own.

Great Start to a New Series

What did you like most about Touch of Frost?

I liked the humour and the family connections

Who was your favorite character and why?

It's hard to pick a favourite character apart from Frost & Lacy, I really liked the twins Joseph & Jonah, they were so bright and mischievous oh and of course Dusty the pig!

What does David Brenin bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?

David Brenin has a pleasant reading voice, I enjoyed listening to him.

Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I laughed out loud numerous time throughout the book.

Any additional comments?

I really enjoyed listening to this book and would recommend it, it has a bit of everything, humour, action and romance. I'm now waiting on the next one in the series.

Not as good as some of her other series

For me combining Aliens with witches, dragons, vampires and werewolves from Earth was a step too far

Best ever

I loved many of S E Smith's previous stories but this is my favourite thus far. A really good story that really surprised me in the end. Just when I thought it was over ...BAM... yet another layer. Well read ...not annoying but I just like guys who sound like guys rather than girls trying to sound like them. Well worth the money

Great Sci-Fi Author

Would you consider the audio edition of Touch of Frost to be better than the print version?

Yes and no. I'm so glad the audio edition came out as I can listen ad work at the same time. But I loved reading the book too. S.E. Smith is a fantastic author and really engages you in her books you want to read on to see who the story ends.

What other book might you compare Touch of Frost to, and why?

Very similar to Alanea Alders Arkadian series in that it's based in a town with magic, but ones sci-fi and ones paranormal but very similar with humour and the dedication of the main characters.

Which scene did you most enjoy?

It has to be when she shrunk the baddie down in size I couldn't stop laughing that this bad alien was best by a witch ... lol

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes riveting storytelling and the book just hit my emotions from crying to laughing.

Any additional comments?

S.E. Smith is another amazing Sci-Fi and Paranormal author. I love all her works and A Touch of Frost is a relatively new series by her. Can't wait to see if they release all her books in audio verion I will definately be getting them.
