Summary

Dr. Siri, der so dickköpfige wie brillante Leichenbeschauer von Laos, muss in die Provinz: Ein bizarrer Fund sorgt für Unruhe in Houaphan, einer abgelegenen Bergregion. Nach einem Erdrutsch ragt ein mumifizierter Arm aus einem frisch verlegten Betonpfad. Da der fragliche Weg zum neuen Domizil des Präsidenten führt, ist er geradezu ein Nationaldenkmal. Folglich soll Siri schnell und diskret herausfinden, warum hier offenbar ein Mann lebendig begraben wurde.

Zusammen mit seiner Assistentin Dtui kommt er einer Geschichte von Liebe, Magie und Rache auf die Spur. Allerdings ist es nicht dieser Mordfall, der Siri um den Schlaf bringt. Es ist die infernalisch laute Discomusik, die jede Nacht an sein Ohr dringt. Woher kommt sie? Und warum scheint sie außer ihm niemand zu hören? Auch dieses Rätsel wird er schließlich lösen - und sogar selbst ein mitternächtliches Tänzchen wagen.
