Summary
What if the serial killer you were investigating was someone you knew?
DS Wendy Knight's first murder case was always going to test her limits, but even she couldn't anticipate that a sadistic serial killer might be someone she knew - very well.
As her investigation unfolds, so too does a sinister plot that will turn her world upside down and make it increasingly difficult to distinguish friend from foe in her tight-knit world.
By the time Wendy realises she is the killer's final intended victim, she's left fighting against her personal instincts - and for her life.
Adam Croft is the USA Today and worldwide Amazon number-one best seller of crime and psychological thrillers, with more than one million books sold to date.

Short Police Procedural
This was an easy, short listen and is the first in a series featuring DS Wendy Knight and her boss DCI Culverhouse. Because the book is only 3 hours long the plot was fairly simple, and there wasn't a lot of character development.
But having said that, I did enjoy the book for what it was and Adam Croft did a great job narrating his own book. I will definitely listen to the next in the series.

Nearly missed out on this excellent story because I have a genuine aversion to writers narrating their own work. This time I was wrong the narration was worth 5 stars. Just one question though : who have I fallen in love with D S Knight or Mr Croft?

Excellent work
I went into this expecting a decent Police Procedural, and came out of it with a book that exceeded my expectations. I liked the characters, especially The DCI reminding me of Gene Hunt from Life on Mars/Ashes to Ashes. The story had the right pace and was suitably involved. As a writer of this genre myself I am always interested in the ideas of other authors and Adam has certainly not disappointed me. Keep up the great work Adam.
