The Wonderful Tom Baker!

This is an enjoyable listen. Tom recounts some of his past in an amusing way. Toms autobiography “who on Earth is Tom Baker” is a title to seek out. Probably the best autobiography I have listened to, but does not appear on Audible as of date. Hopefully they will offer it soon!

Loved it!

Loved it this from begining to end.
Great voice acting by Sir Tom and a story that both brings memories of old Dr Who with tales that could be done today.
Oh and that last piece on Sarah Jane, wonderful...sob.

Always a joy. Very entertaining and informative. If only it were longer, it would be even better.

The Doctor!

Brilliant! Funny, and interesting. He was obviously having a lot of fun reminiscing about his time in Dr Who and on stage. Simply Sacre bleu!

Interesting but sad...

To hear about Tom Baker's life, against the never-ending flow of life ebbing away.
There will never be another one like this again. This is a must listen for any Tom Baker fan as he recollects memories from his life.

Tom who?

Totally engaged in a universe separate from any other, we are drawn into the comfort of Mr Baker’s voice.

Encouraged by the interviewer to name-drop liberally, Tom complies with curious detachment which highlights what appears to be lifelong vulnerability and self doubt. The benevolent alien is revealed to be human after all, and more like many of us are without being able to admit to it.

At 80, I suppose there is a sense of invincibility and safety to say anything and get away with it as being the rambling rantings of some old ‘harmless’ geezer, but there is feign innocence which should not fool anybody. More like ‘Me, Who?’ rather than ‘Me Too’.

Though it is irreverent and unrepentantly politically incorrect on the surface, there is an honesty and integrity underpinning the performance which flies in the face of fany virtue signaller who may seek to criticise.

His closing quote from Groucho Marx lets the cat out of the bag — I won’t spoil it by writing it here, you’ll have to buy the book — you do not have to agree in order to enjoy.
