Summary

Do you want to know why your child does not listen? Or how to get his attention?
If you do keep listening!

A study recently published by the University of Harvard asked the question “what is the best way to discipline children?”

It came out with something interesting.

“The word 'discipline’ literally has its roots in the Latin word disciplinare, to teach or train. Parents need to teach their children good behavior; it doesn’t just happen. And it is incredibly hard work, especially because when children act badly, it can get on a parent’s last nerve and trigger an angry response, like yelling or spanking.

According to a policy statement, Effective Discipline to Raise Healthy Children, recently released by the American Academy of Pediatrics, ‘aversive’ discipline techniques like yelling and spanking are a really bad idea. Not only do studies show that they do not work that well, they can have long-term negative effects.” (Claire McCarthy, MD)

But how do you easily help your child grow without methods and strategies?
Fortunately, now it’s possible to get all the tools and strategies without consulting a psychotherapist and spending a lot of money. Well in this audiobook that is what you are going to get!

In the book you will find:

  • How to discipline your kid (with strategies)
  • When to discipline a toddler and how you are going to do that
  • When your kid starts to understand the consequences of their actions

Scam

Seems to be written by an AI bot and read by a computer. Other than the introduction it doesn't make any sense.

Informative tips

There are dozens of gentle discipline books out there, but often they are lengthy and more theoretical than practical. Here, Aubrey Hargis manages to share an approach that is respectful of the child AND the parent in a way that is straightforward and practical.

Excellent easy book

This book made me realize that children do not think how adults think. We need to talk to them the way that they understand us and our message.

The ultimate parenting guide, listen it to believe it. Requires dedication, self reflection and self evaluation but is worth its weight in gold.

This book is beautiful

Nice concise book. Like the general theory of author advice. As with all parenting books wouldn't agree with every single thing, but that's usual.

Must listen this book

I mostly agree with what Janet has to say and it’s an easy listen to explain some toddler thoughts but there are areas I disagree slightly.

A great introduction from great author

A useful book for any parents or carers who don't like the 'traditional' parenting books. Some really useful chapters about toddler behaviours which enables you to consider how your own reactions further impacts on the situation.

I really enjoyed this audible

Like all parenting books, there is sometimes a tendency to give the impression that this method is the only correct way, which can make it feel a little preachy, but honestly, the advice is worth it.

A Very helpful and useful audible

I wish I'd discovered this book sooner. I was struggling to find the right way to teach my little one boundaries without it being a battle, this showed me many ways to understand and deal with my daughter - as soon as I put the methods into practice our relationship improved.

Excellent easy book

I love the approach advocated by this book. According to it, the basis of discipline should be: unconditional love, respect, clear boundaries, an understanding of the child's level of development, and the ability to make a clear distinction between the child's needs and wants.

Very nice book

An useful book for anyone having a toddler. I would have preferred to have more examples from real life but this is just a matter of taste.
