Summary

When two people's lives are spiraling out of control, can coming together pull both of them back up?

Alexis Woods knows who she is - or at least, she thought she did. She's number 17, point guard, MVP, all-star, co-captain of the Lady Raiders NCAA Division I women's basketball team. But there's a darkness growing inside of her, a darkness that started the night her beloved died in her arms, and if she doesn't turn things around soon, the darkness just might swallow her whole.

Graham Griffin knows a thing or two about darkness. That's been her zip code ever since the car accident that took her boyfriend's life - the car accident she caused. When she meets Alex, she sees a reflection of her own sorrow. And she can't help but want to fix it.

100% immersive and engaging

Thoroughly enjoyed this book from start to finish. It didn’t follow the formula of so many lesbian romance novels and kept you guessing. Would highly recommend

Brilliant, angsty, moving and honest.

Eliza Andrews is one of my top 2 or 3 authors of the past few years. She's a very accomplished writer, and her plots are beautifully structured to deliver the right amount of tension and emotional catharthis... But I think it's her angst that gets to me most, she has this ability to go deep emotionally that I love... Tho it can be a bit gutting at times... She's honest and vulnerable.. Something that few writers not honed in the healing waters of fanfic are able to produce, in my opinion...
This book displays all these talents, I read it a few months ago and listening to it only adds to the experience, like all the best audiobooks do, The reader is also excellent.... Phew!
So, get this, it's lovely!

Loved this story and the characters! Was gripped right from the beginning. I felt like I was really getting to know two wonderful and strong (in different ways) women as they took this journey. Wonderful!

A Cathartic Joy

This author is expressive and articulate. In "To Have Loved & Lost", she draws you into a deep relationship-oriented plot line. Her beautiful, flawed, tough and sensitive characters are raw, deep, and happen to be lesbian. It is wonderful and realistic how the characters being lesbian isn't the main focus of the book and being lesbian isn't their identity, but just a piece of who they are. I find it refreshing to discover an author, who can portray real women in real friendships as real people. Thank you, Eliza Andrews! I HIGHLY recommend this author and her first book categorized as LGBT fiction. Hopefully, it will encourage, warm, thrill, and entertain other readers as much as it did me!

Loved it!

This isn't your normal cheesy romance. It's a true novel based on lesbian characters. I will be getting every book Eliza does from now on. Finally someone that sees how unrepresented some us are. Solid work Eliza you have a new fan!

Sleeper Hit!

Bought this title because none of my favorite authors had anything new out. I was pleasantly surprised. Good writing, lovely story, well fleshed out characters--a lovely journey.
Narrator was talented and well suited for the story. I was very pleased. I hope to hear much, much more from this author and narrator.

Great Book!

This is a great love story. I know the LGBT community would love it but I also think straight people would enjoy it. You forget the story is about two women and it becomes a story about how two people finding each other and growing together. It's a simple message that we all have baggage but when you find the right person, it doesn't matter. Loved it!

The title is perfect!!

This was a great book filled with all the feels and the excitement of basketball as well. I love sports but don’t get to watch it much, so this was very enjoyable to follow Alex in her venture. The love and loss for all the characters was a big challenge for them but they soon find peace within each other.

I’m so glad that Eliza write this book and I hope she will write more lgbt+ books :)

If I could take back time

This story had many things ringing in my head of how life turns you over and over.
This is so well written it brings to mind that I think sometimes you want that perfect love story.
But this is the perfect love story.
Why?
Because it brings reality to it with a decent twist of fate.

Personally this brought back many memories for me and it was like living a pain over again.
When a writer brings in reality to a story , for me, means there is more tied up in the telling. There is more of a connection that in itself gives me the want satisfied by listening to this book.

As for the story omg seriously I love the detail the in-depth of the characters and the tie of a second book.
I love the butch and I live the bisexual characters.
Mixing both was a delight.
I am now going to start book 2
The end of the book Author Rant was perfect.

Wonderful story

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. The audio performance was very good. The story was even better. Alex and Graham are such sound, real characters. Their reactions to each other and the other characters is completely in sync with their personalities and family histories. I wish I'd had a novel like this to read when I was in college. Excellent work.

This was a wonderful book about to flawed humans that find love and find forgiveness especially in themselves and each other. It was terrifically written and actually didn’t read it as a Jack-in-the-Box same oh same oh love story!

Loved this book!

I loved this book! Couldn’t put it down and finished it in less than 2 days!
I was a college basketball player too and could definitely relate. I could relate to many things in this book. And the author/narrator’s voice...I am a sucker for that sexy raspy voice....so I was hooked immediately! Can’t wait to read more of her books and I hope she keeps reading them. 😉
