Summary

War is a crucible. Valhalla awaits the worthy.

On the battlefield of the future, armored mechs can turn the tide of any battle. With a nation under threat, a single small force of Armor joins the fight to hold the line against a merciless horde bent on total domination.

Chief Amos Roy - a young soldier haunted by the loss of his brother to the enemy - is thrust into the fight before he’s ready. War is a harsh teacher, and his fellow Armor are just as wary of him as they are the foe.

When the enemy unleashes a mobile battle station with the power to annihilate cities, Roy must prove himself to veteran Armor that he's worthy to fight beside them. Can battle forge a team that will stop the enemy's super weapon?

For here the Armor will find the Iron in their hearts and the spirit to win any war. Even if nothing but embers of defiance remains.

plot holes

is it just me, or at the beginning of the ember war saga, Elias and the armour was 10 feet tall, and in this story, he seems to be 15, just like after he encountered the general?

Great as always

a great story that gives a good look at the war between the Union and China, the short stories at the end might be even better though they fill in a few of the gaps that took place during the ember war series and teran armour core

Another Ember Wars Homerun

I've listened to all the books in the Ember Wars saga and they are by far my favorite books by my favorite author.. The way he develops his characters and makes you interested not only in the "good guys" but the "bad guys" as well and it is something I haven't really found in any other author and having Luke Daniels narrate is just a bonus because he brings the characters to life.. I think he could easily do a spin-off on either of these characters Miles Standish aka Standish, Steuben or Marc Ibarra aka Markybara or maybe even Malal.. With all that out of the way I'll say this book is as good as the others and I'd definitely recommend it.. Though I can say my only disappointment with this book is how short it was (roughly 6.5 hrs) which I listened to in a day and even though I listened to them again I had already listened to Iron Hearts, Vent Rates, Schism, Going Dark, The Iron Within and The Anvil which are all great listens I just wish I could've had 4+ more hours of something I haven't heard yet because I don't know what Mr' Fox has planned for his next release and when it'll happen..

Awesome book. Love the history.

I almost fell off my chair when they mentioned “Banana” a town I grew up in. The history and research that the author did into Australia was impressive. The story line is as you’d expect from Luke. Simply awesome!!!

Exactly as expected

Great story! Exactly as expected with glimpses into the lives of characters we have grown to love. The Bonus stories are well worth the price by themselves.

Great stories and incredible performance from Luke Daniels too

The outtakes at the end from Luke’s reading were hilarious. I would love to hear things like that more often. It’s interesting getting a peak like that.

Great addition, will there be more?

I loved the Digger's back story. It would be oh so great if this was expanded into a series.

Good quality Entertainment

I dont usually like prequels. but I thought I would give this a try. Not disappointed. Good characters and an exciting story. I especially liked the group of short stories at the end.

Disappointed

Can't understand most of the Australian accent. Disappointing story, not very sci-fi. Would have been better with aliens.

I think in burned out with "Armor"

I have read a lot of military sci-fi. I may need a break. This was just OK, but I dont think I can stomach one more "I am Armor". I guess repetitive is the best way to describe this book. If they were not battling, they were telling endless cliche war stories. I just couldn't get into the story or the characters in this one.

Amazing!

Awesome book. Mr. Fox has blown me away again. back storys are my favorite, so the main book and the short stories really took it home. And again, Luke Daniels proves that he is the voice of the Ember Wars.
