It has a quite interesting premise and mystery of the portals is quite compelling.

The main character Perry stumbles through a portal, he meets a girl, falls in love and is pursued by an unknown stranger. She builds him a powersuit. She later dies when attacked by the unknown stranger. He goes through another portal only to find himself again in another world where he must find a way to survive. Perry soon discovers that there are others like him and that they are called thresholders. They are always in opposition and it's becoming clear to Perry that this is going to be his way of life, He will be hopping from world to world uncertain if he will ever find his way back home.
