Leone Ross’ voice pulls you into Popisho and doesn’t let you go until the end. I read the book and adored it, but listening to a story, hearing her lilt made it shimmer. I recommend this title to everyone! Come to Popisho. You won’t want to leave.

Loved Leone's voice and accent. I especially loooove the dialogues and the parts when they were debating hard man and soft man dancehall style... Laughed till I cried. Leone Ross is phenomenal.

It would be awkward if I didn't love this book, for reasons that are none of your business, so it's a good job I do. I have never tackled magical realism before but I'm glad I did and I remain bowled over by the beauty, the humour, the politics, the love and the food. It made me smile, I cared what happened to the characters and felt like I was there, living the day with them. And Leone read it beautifully.
