I have enjoyed this audible book which was well written and clearly spoken. You may or may not agree with the writer but there is plenty of food for thought.

Amazing book!

This book is amazing! It has really opened my eyes to why children act the way they do and what we can do to support and shape them into the adults that we’d all like them to become. It’s so clear and well read by the author, with actionable steps and a toolkit to help you through the tough job that is parenthood. At certain points I felt quite emotional listening to it both with laughter and then at other times sad coming to the realisation of things that I could have done better for my daughter in the 2 and a half years of her life.

This book is a MUST for all parents of little ones and I’m certainly going to recommend it to all of my friends and family with children 5 and under.

best book for every parent

Best book that will help you raise responsible and emotionally well grounded children. The book is based on research and evidence and delivered with an amazing style of writing making information that's jargon laden very accessible for everyone.

Enjoy your journey of learning about your lizard and you baboon. This book will help you turn them into wise 🦉 owls.

Take what works for you

Well written and narrated. Some really good/useful/strong advice and ways of looking at things (which I will be using), but a few things I completely disagree with, so I'd recommend this book, but take with a pinch of salt and take the bits which work for you.

Amazing book!

There really is, no such thing as naughty! Highly recommend this book. I was gripped from the very first chapter and finished listening to it in 2 days. Very informative and I was able to relate to alot of the things. I now look at my 2 year old in a different light.

Good but no accompanying pdf as stated

Enjoyed the audiobook very much, and lots to think about and try. I listened to it whilst driving to utilise the time. A couple of times in the book Kate refers to other authors and says there is an accompanying pdf. I couldn't locate this and neither could audible when I called asking about it. This is disappointing, particularly when I was told in the follow up email from them I needed to state the times it was said. Surely it would be more sensible for them to contact Kate or her publisher and ask her for the information?!

A great book, made better by the audiobook!

I have already recommended this book a few times over and I have just finished it. The approach it takes is so simple yet highly effective. I love how Kate simplifies the scientific term or theory for the reader which keeps you engaged throughout. Having Kate read the book herself made it so easy to listen to.

A real game changer!

There are no handbooks when it comes to raising children...however this comes pretty close!Having worked with young children for over 20 years, many of the themes and messages throughout this heartfelt and passionate book are ones that really need to be shouted from the rooftops. I would extend my recommendation further than parents and carers of young children but also to anyone who has any responsibility for little ones whether it be in education/care services or beyond. Also a fascinating read for anyone who is curious about their own upbringing and the impact this might be having throughout adulthood. The importance of this book cannot be understated.
