Story
After her release from a concentration camp, Corrie ten Boom set out to become what she called a “tramp for the Lord,” traveling around the world at the direction of God and proclaiming his message everywhere. Throughout her life-long experiences, she learned a few lessons in God’s great classroom, which she here shares with listeners. Corrie introduces us to her former prison guard, who asks her for forgiveness; a war-crippled lawyer with a soul as twisted and deformed as his limbs; and more.

Story
Revelation is a lens that puts the entire Bible into focus. The lens is focused on the person of Jesus Christ, and his destiny is imminent. This is a book of victory: We are overcomers! We are the ultimate winners in the game of life! (I read the ending: We win!) One of the reasons this book strikes us as strange is because of our lack of understanding concerning the Old Testament. The Book of Revelation consists of 404 verses that contain over 800 allusions to the Old Testament. These are detailed, along with Chuck's analysis of the design and structure of this fascinating book.

Would you believe it took nearly 500 years to translate the ESV (English Standard Version) Bible? That's because the ESV builds on the great translations of the past - including William Tyndale's New Testament of 1526 and the King James Version (KJV) of 1611. But the ESV Bible also builds on the best Christian scholarship of the last 100 years.

I can make no comment on the content as for me it is Holy Scripture. However, whilst the NKJV would not be my first choice of (Bible) translation, of which I have several, this is certainly by far my favourite audio Bible. The balance between voice and backing music (and sound effects) is right and the voices are very clear. Personally I would have preferred it if the narrator had given the chapter number at the start of each chapter but this does not detract from the overall quality of this superb production.

This REALLY needs to be indexed
Is there anything you would change about this book?
The performances, music and sound effects are great and provide a vivid and wonderful recitation of the bible BUT there is no way to find the books or verses short of spending a lot of time guessing or book marking sections once you find them. The addition of indexing the sections would make this an excellent audiobook but without it finding sections is extremely frustrating.

New to God
I have just found God over the past 8 months. Wanted to start at the beginning. I have spent the past 3 months listening to this book 1 hour every day. I will admit a lot of this was hard to grasp for someone with little understanding of God and the bible. I will say this book was very enjoyable to listen to. Only wish it were easier to keep track of the chapters. Impossible to just look up any certain story.

Awesome, but needs indexing
The performance and sound effects are wonderful - and it's God's word...The addition of indexing would make this a 5 star all the way around. Finding a book out of sequence is trial and error... frustrating. For example, I was looking for the book of Jonah - found it in Part 14 starting at chapter 28 - 31 (the 4 chapters of Jonah). Then chapter 32 starts the book of Micah.

Excellent audio quality, very nicely dramatized! I love to listen to this audiobook at bedtime. I would even say it has a musical quality - very relaxing. I would, however, voice this complaint: the audiobooks do not list which books start where or the order.
This is definitely worth purchasing!

Love listening to the OT
If you could sum up The Word of Promise Audio Bible Old Testament NKJV in three words, what would they be?
Enlightening, Confusing, Surprising
Who was your favorite character and why?
God of course
Did the narrator do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?
Yes all but Richard Dryfus who played Moses. I doubt he even read the text before he read it. He was very unbelievable and boring, unfortunatly Moses has a lot to say. I understand the producers wanted a big name to help get attention but Richard Dryfuss was not a good choice at all.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Don't think that is possible its too big and too many hours.
Any additional comments?
Thank you for making the OT come alive. Hearing things I have never heard or read before. I am very happy this was produced and available.

Great audio Bible; awful organization
I love this version of the Bible on audio, but this Audible copy is very difficult to use. There is no organization of the books or chapters of the Bible and some of the parts are out of order. It would be great if, at the least, the individual parts had descriptions of what books are included. The titles of the parts should include the book names, and the chapter titles should include the book and chapter it corresponds with too.

Poor Organization of Sections
Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?
I'd be hesitant. The organization of the sections seems random and isn't marked. I would like to see the sections organized so that I could glance at the various sections and know which books of the Bible were in that section.
What other book might you compare The Word of Promise Audio Bible Old Testament NKJV to and why?
What about the narrator’s performance did you like?
Excellent performance
Could you see The Word of Promise Audio Bible Old Testament NKJV being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?
