Summary

What if your first love came back on the scene...30 years later?

After yet another disaster, Lorrie is calling time on online dating. She might be single in her 40s, but she's got a good job and wonderful children, and she's happy. This, Lorrie decides, is going to have to be enough.

That is until she receives a very unexpected request from France. Antoine Rousseau, who had once turned a lonely French exchange trip into a summer of romance, wants to see her - after 30 years.

But Lorrie is a responsible woman. She can't exactly run off to Nice with the man who broke her teenage heart...can she?

A wonderfully funny novel, perfect for fans of Jill Mansell, Joanna Bolouri and Milly Johnson.

Enjoyable story

I quite liked this book, it's easy to listen to and the narrator gives a good performance. I don't feel as though much happened but it was just a nice story, a good one to listen to while relaxing or when wanting some distraction.

WONDERFUL!!

This would NEVER have been the type of book that I would have "read" (pre-Audible) ...

... however the narrator drew me into the tale with the audible sample, and I absolutely LOVED it.

The characterisation is superb, and it is written with a great eye for people's foibles.

Although there is a serious vein running through the book, I giggled my way through chunks of it!!

I loved this book, I related to the story line and very much enjoyed the female, working, single mum view. and of course the happy ending, it was a bit predictable but that didn't bother me. a lockdown feel good listen

Not my usual type of book at all (crime & history), but I found this funny and thoroughly enjoyable. Thank you for the entertainment.
