Summary

The Winter Children is a haunting mystery from Lulu Taylor, author of The Snow Angel.

Behind a selfless act of kindness lies dark intentions...

After years of IVF, Olivia and Dan are blissfully happy at the arrival of their long dreamed-of twins. At the same time, they make the move to Renniston Hall, a huge, Elizabethan house that belongs to absent friends. Living rent-free in a small part of the unmodernised house, once a boarding school, they can begin to enjoy the family life they've always wanted. But there is a secret at the heart of their family — one that Olivia does not yet know. And the house, too, holds darkness deep within it...

Not really a book I enjoyed

I found it quite hard to actually like most of the characters as they felt s little unreal. The narrator was very good but not a book I would probably recommend

Enjoyable but not entirely plausible

If you could sum up The Winter Children in three words, what would they be?

Enjoyable, sad, implausible

Who was your favorite character and why?

I didn't have a favourite character - they were all rather flawed

Have you listened to any of Clare Corbett’s other performances? How does this one compare?

N/A

Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I felt very sad for the deceit that ran through everyone's lives

Superp book. Excellant narration.

This book has it all; sadness, humour, sensativity and a most intriguing storyline.
Tha characters portray lots of hidden depths with hidden personalities.
The last chapter brought a feeling of great remorse and sadness due to the books contents.
All of the characters were brougjt alive by the narrator and you felt you were actually inside their world, observing each scene like a fly on the wall.
I have listened to over thirty books and this one is by far the best. DO NOT PASS IT BY. YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED.
