Critic reviews

“It is what I call a Household Book.... a book which everybody in the household loves, and quotes continually ever afterwards; a book which is read aloud to every new guest.” (A. A. Milne)

Worth the wait

I've been meaning to read this book for years. Decided to listen instead and glad I did. Very cleaver writing and Jim Weiss was a very entertaining and read each character beautifully.

Jim Weiss is delightful

I was introduced to Jim Weiss through Chinaberry. A woman who shared children's literature. I love introducing my grandchildren to classic literature through Jim. Another old friend I have never met but have invited into my home through the power of a story.
