Summary

Now a New York Times top 10 best seller.

When you listen to this book, you will make many assumptions.

It's about a jealous wife, obsessed with her replacement.

It's about a younger woman set to marry the man she loves.

The first wife seems like a disaster; her replacement is the perfect woman.

You will assume you know the motives, the history, the anatomy of the relationships.

You will be wrong.

The Wife Between Us is the first collaboration between Greer Hendricks and Sarah Pekkanen; a gripping thriller with film rights sold to the creators of The Girl On the Train.

Critic reviews

"A fiendishly clever thriller in the vein of Gone Girl and The Girl on the Train. This one will keep you guessing." (Anita Shreve, author of The Stars are Fire)
"A twisty, mind-bending novel about marriage and betrayal. A gripping plot and fascinating characters." (Lauren Weisberger, New York Times best-selling author of The Devil Wears Prada)

Stunning Edge of The Seat Thriller

I absolutely loved this book and could not stop listening to it. There were so many twists none of which I anticipated and the final twist was a real surprise. This book was so well written the characters well defined and the dialogue sharp and interesting. I also enjoyed the narrator and felt she brought real life to the characters. I cannot wait for the next book from these authors.

Very Clever

This is the kind of book you just can’t stop listening to. Very gripping story from the start and then a great twist in the middle that sets the tone for the rest of the book. The twists don’t end there either! Really enjoyable!

Fairly predictable

Very similar storyline to another book; ‘the last Mrs. Parish’, but not quite as good. I found it very predictable

Sounds like a robot is reading this!

My first audible and I am not impressed. The robot voice reading it is too distracting. Are all books like this? If so I will cancel my membership absolutely unbelievable

I was waiting for the big twist but it never came. Totally predicable. Very disappointing.

Boring, one dimensional and so so dull.

If you want another pathetic story about a damsel in distress then this is the one for you! Women are powerless, insignificant and bland, as apparently we all are. This book honestly pissed me off more than anything I’ve read in a while. Please don’t waste your life.

Dreadful

I thought this was a terrible book - full of cliches and absolutely stuffed with awful name dropping of brands . I had no interest in any of the main characters as they all seemed so uninteresting . On top of all that I didn’t want to rate it with any stars at all but it wouldn’t let me ☹️

Lazy writing

If this was a movie I'd have walked out. Didn't finish listening. Life's too short.

Just awful

What a waste of 9 hours, luckily I listen to audible when I’m busy doing other things or if have been very upset, There is no twist whatsoever unless you count the weird unlikely ‘coincidence’ in the epilogue. There was no character building, I didn’t like any of the people in the book except perhaps the very small part of long suffering Aunt Charlotte. The main character is dull, boring and weak. Her husband is a 2 dimensional person from the start. I couldn’t care less what happened to them. I only kept listening because the other reviews promised twists and turns.. Spoiler alert: it’s a very common story of slightly controlling man married weak woman, he pays for everything so she should be grateful. He tries to control her by making her think she’s going mad- but honestly it’s the weakest control storyline I’ve ever read or met in real life, I have known people in far more unhealthy relationships than thus book tried to credit. During the conversation between the 2 authors they say how complicated the story is! No, it isn’t, it’s boring and very obvious.

Don’t Read the review read the book

So I read the reviews and ended up trying to predict what the other readers were taking about. The story is brilliant so don’t worry . Don’t bother with the reviews; they give away all the good stuff. Don’t spoil it for yourself. it’s worth the read!!!

Loved it!!

I LOVED this book! There were so many twists and turns and I never saw a single one coming. I thought I knew where the story was going but around every corner was another surprise! The narrators were a fantastic fit. Great story, I would definitely read other books by this author. Highly recommend!

Wow! Lots of twists

There are a few twists and turns but easy listening. I nearly missed out on the epilogue which was another twist. Loved it. My daughter recommended it. Thanks Zoe
