Summary

In the wake of her husband's inexplicable suicide - and the equally mysterious deaths of scores of other exemplary individuals - Jane picks up the trail of a secret cabal of powerful players who think themselves above the law and beyond punishment. But the people bent on hijacking America's future for their own monstrous ends never banked on a highly trained FBI agent willing to become the nation's most wanted fugitive in order to derail their insidious plans.

More of the same

More of Jane running around abducting people, being sad and drinking vodka.

Not sure I can be bothered with any more in this series.

Excellent

was a bit disappointed with The Silent Corner but the Whispering Room made up for it 10 fold. Edge of the seat stuff, Koontz at his best .

Inconsistent writing and dismissive of mental health issues.

The writing (and editing) is extremely inconsistent, changing between jumpy action scenes, reasonably good dialogues and then scenery descriptions that are trying to be classical literature, missing by several miles.
The author at one point describes depression as a choice that only weak people make, belittling mental health issues.

The ending is like the author got bored with writing and just decided to stop, not closing the story, just finishing the sentence.

The narrator was ok most of the time. It was a bit tricky to follow who said what in the dialogues as many of the voices became too alike.

Would not recommend, it felt like a chore to listen to the end.

Loved it !

It’s been a While Since I read a Dean Koontz it was Nice to Have a Strong Female Role. He Slips just enough Sci-fi /Fantasy in its almost Feasible,A great Performance and a great Story such a bizarre ending I wonder if there will be a part Two I want to know whats happening to the with the Tillman’s I Guess they must be playing Manchurian or something and the Kids Too one never really knows why these kids can’t be Assimilated and if it’s just these ones. 18 hrs and one’s still left wanting more but I guess that was the whole point not knowing left to wonder if you have been too. !

Absorbing Jane Hawk part 2

I enjoyed on the whole this second Jane Hawk installment. Lots of unresolved loose ends to tie up, I assume in the third installment...?

Fantastic

Koontz keeps me enthralled with the story line and his mastery of imagery and language.
