Summary

FBI Agent Pendergast has taken Constance on a whirlwind Grand Tour, hoping to give her closure and a sense of the world that she's missed. They head to Tibet, where Pendergast intensively trained in martial arts and spiritual studies. At a remote monastery, they learn that a rare and dangerous artifact the monks have been guarding for generations has been mysteriously stolen. Pendergast agrees to take up the search.

The trail leads him and Constance to the maiden voyage of the Queen Victoria, the world's largest and most luxurious passenger liner - and to an Atlantic crossing fraught with terror.

Investigate more of Agent Pendergast's cases.

Not an advert for cross Atlantic sailing

Well up-to standard. I have listened to other books by these authors and Rene Auberjinois is the best narrator. His voice adds just that extra touch of spookiness. Looking forward to the next in the series

Riveting storyline and brilliant narration

Love this series and it still has so much life left. Great that the development of characters still grows and Pendergast sometimes takes a side role but this just makes it better.

Interesting story, well told

Excellently presented and unusual, taking place on board a ship.
Works well as audio book.

Not the best of the books not even close.

Lacks the atmosphere of the other books. The story could have been good but was rather boring.

Great horrible fun

I really like Constance being developed more and her personality starting to come out more. Very enjoyable.

A return to form

Much better than the Diogenes trilogy.
A good threat, Pendergast detecting and a nice link to current (as it was then) theory.
Also no museum!

Pendergast

Another wonder filled book by the duo, twist, turns and drama on every page
