Some families pass down money. Some pass down secrets. The Briggs family passes down both, along with enemies you never knew you had.

When Nathan Briggs flies home to New England after his grandfather's disappearance, he expects grief and family tension. What he doesn't expect is a locked room, a letter written in a language he somehow understands, and a power igniting in his blood that has no business existing in the modern world.

Hedlund Briggs was a Weaver, one of a rare line of humans who can bend the fabric of reality itself. Now Hedlund is gone, his enemies are circling, and the inheritance has passed to Nathan whether he wants it or not.

Guided by his loyal best friend Ben and Serena, the woman he met in Europe who knows far more about his family than she should, Nathan begins to uncover a world hiding in plain sight. A world of vampires who move in old money circles, demons who look like neighbours, and fae who have been watching the Briggs family for generations.

The magic is real. The danger is older than he can imagine. And someone very powerful wants to make sure Nathan never masters what his grandfather left him.

Perfect for fans of Ben Aaronovitch, Deborah Harkness, and anyone who ever wanted Harry Potter to grow up.

The story itself was very short with not a lot happening in the entire book. Too focused on what they ate, their feelings to get moving

repetitive phrases that became annoying
