Summary

The best-selling author, Oprah Magazine columnist and beloved life coach has turned to a subject her fans have been waiting for.

Just as there are toxins in your body that can be cleansed by a nutrition plan, the toxins in your life, such as family beliefs and social expectations, can be cleansed in a four-stage process Martha has successfully tested with hundreds of her clients. The Way of Integrity is a guide to discovering your true self and the pure peace that is your birthright.

The book is rich with exercises and self-tests that help listeners evaluate where they are out of integrity in their lives and identify symptoms that show they need a detox. Those signs range from people-pleasing to staying in stale relationships, from feeling unmotivated to frequent illnesses, from negative habits to addictions. Listeners learn what they actually yearn for versus what they may crave as the result of what the culture sells us. Martha shows how to read internal signals that lead towards our true path and to recognise the soul teachers who help wake us to our deep purpose.

Making scientific ideas accessible and using her signature humour, Beck takes us on a spiritual adventure that not only will change the direction of our lives, but will bring us to a place of genuine happiness.

Wow its like Dr. Beck really tells my own story❤️

I love how she takes one of humankinds most important works, "inferno" by Dante Alighieri and manages to ask existential questions on how to live purposeful lives in absence of suffering. Living with integrity means making somewhat difficult decisions about what truly creates meaning in your life in career, relationships and so on.

Exquisite and practical - a treasure

I’d been feeling really low, and on reaching out to a great friend I’d explained how I perceived inner conflict within me, and she suggested I’d like this book and she bought it for me. This has been the most perfect book to help lift me from intense internal mental conflict. I found it relatable, realistic, practical, and overall, optimistic. It’s helping me feel grounded that my inner pain has a purpose, and the purpose is leading me to peace on earth. I have a paper copy too as an extra reference for the exercises. Here’s the key - don’t just listen to it, actually DO the exercises. Or at least do some as you listen once, then you’ll likely feel the pull of integrity to go listen again and do them all.

Purely real

I love this book, it demonstrated love, care, vulnerability and a passion to make a difference in the world. It was interesting, informative and I loved the references to Dante’s Divine Comedy throughout the book. This spoke to me and kept me fully engaged. Although I haven’t as yet undertaken the exercises, I will in due course. The words spoke to me at a soul level and this was just what I needed to hear in that moment. I aspire to be like Martha and have always valued honesty above other qualities but I haven’t always been true to myself or others. I am a seeker, I’m on a quest to find out who I really am and what my path is and this book is wonderfully written and touched my heart. I think anyone in a similar position to me who wants a better more fulfilling and compassionate life should read this book. Thank you Martha for being so brave as to lay yourself out and share your experiences, you have opened my eyes to the fact that there is always a better way.

Martha at her best

Martha's work is always an absolute joy to listen to, she makes complex concepts accessible through practical examples and supportive exercises. I wished the book would have gone on longer.
