I purchased this by mistake, not really my genre, but the accident paid dividends, it is brilliant. A real page turner. Give it a try, I doubt you will be disappointed.

zombie horror / space fantasy are my main genres and of the 380 odd audio books I own. I don't leave many reviews. I did enjoy this and I would put it high up on list but not at the top. glad I got the boxset. I'd put in in high tier due to very decent writing and narration is top notch 👌 👍 7.5/8 out of 10

Like many of these dystopian box sets, this one just goes on a bit too long and gets just a bit too ridiculous at the end. Other than that I enjoyed it and wouldn’t put me off recommending it as it’s good value for 1 audible credit and overall was entertaining.

Just as a note, I’m not convinced that reverting to the ancient Roman way of life in the way described would really work in rebuilding a successful empire following the destruction of civilisation, and think the other settlements described in the story would be far more likely to reflect what would happen.

I get its dystopian but the story just gets silly, I listened to the whole thing to see if it got better. it did not! love the narrator though, I have listened to a few books he has done

Came up as a recommended title. The preview was OK. I've still 32 hours to finish but it's getting a little monotonous. Main gripe is the over dipiction of the fight scenes. A 2 second action takes a minute of story. Emphasis on blood and gore and the same through out. Not sure if I'll finish the remaining listening. Please do listen if you like fairly shallow characters. (at 9 hours left I've given up)
