Håkon Wessex
Book One of the Elisian Expansion Saga
By Håkon Wessex
“In a galaxy bleeding from forgotten wars, legends don’t die—they return.”
When Captain Jackson Swansea and his rogue crew awaken a long-dead warship in the far reaches of space, they trigger more than ancient engines—they awaken Elisia Woden, the mythical pirate king of the Dreaded Fleet.

Captain Jackson Swansea and his crew are an interesting mix of personalities, but it was the mystery surrounding Elisia Woden and the legendary Dreaded Fleet that really kept me listening. There’s a great sense that the past isn't quite as dead and buried as everyone believed, and the story gradually reveals just how significant their discovery could be.
The world-building is strong without slowing down the action, and there’s a good mixture of space battles, mystery, danger and darker moments. I particularly enjoyed the almost mythological feel surrounding the old wars and the legends that have survived them.
The audiobook format suits the story really well and makes the more dramatic scenes especially enjoyable.
A fast-paced and entertaining listen for anyone who enjoys space opera, ancient mysteries, rogue crews and sci-fi adventures where waking up something that's been sleeping for a very long time turns out to be a spectacularly bad idea.
A gripping space adventure with a great premise
