Summary

A weird tale that anticipates the fiction of H.P. Lovecraft. There's terror on the high seas when crewmen on a ship encounter a man whose body is slowly being absorbed by a gelatinous cosmic horror.

William Hope Hodgson (November 15, 1877-April 1918) aims for horror with a scientific rather than a supernatural basis. In fact, Lovecraft called him "second only to Algernon Blackwood in his serious treatment of unreality". Oscar-nominated and Emmy Award-winning special-effects makeup artist Ed French narrates this chillingly somber tale.
