Summary

From USA Today best selling Author Meghan Quinn, comes a hilarious romantic comedy that will touch your heart and cause you to roar with laughter as you escape into Rosie Bloom's attempt to write a romance novel.

"Her bosom heaved at an alarming rate as his rough hand found its way down to her soft, yet wiry briar patch...."

Can you say briar patch in a romance novel? What about breasts? Do bosoms really heave?

Goodness, I have no idea what I'm doing. I’m a virgin attempting to write a romance novel and I'm having an impossible time trying to write a passionate and swoon-worthy love scene worthy of being published, thanks to my lack of experience.

My two best friends encourage me to drop the pen, step outside my comfort zone, and gain some real life experience through multiple dating facets such as blind dates, online profiles, and random hookups. But losing my "flower" is proving to be much tougher than expected....

This is the story of my awkward, humiliating, and slightly terrifying life, but like all romance novels, I know it will end in a happily ever after. At least that's what I keep telling myself.

Warning: Listen in the confines of your own home due to random outbursts of laughter. If you are addicted to cliffhangers, getting your heart ripped out of your chest, and feeling like a bulldozer just plowed through your stomach, then this audiobook is not for you. if you like peeing your pants and crying from laughing so hard, then please continue listening.

5 thousand stars

This by far the best read I have had in years!...I don’t think I have laughed this hard from a book ever. The story is so lovable and down to earth. And though I can’t same Im proud of it I relate to her bad luck on so many levels. And the love makes it all okay!

Face palm

Rosie is too naive. Can’t relate to her thinking or support her.

Can’t continue on..

*spoiler*
Let’s be realistic, who has a guy bff who calls them love without any romantic “interest” in behind it?

Sweet and oh so fun!

This is a great series full of laughs and love.

- The Virgin Romance Novelist –

This story is sweet and full of laughs. And that ending, love!

Rosie is 23, a virgin, and trying to write a romance novel. She needs experience and is ready to put herself out there and date. Let's just say that what ensues is filled with laughter, awkward moments, and some heartache.

I truly enjoyed this story. This could have been titled - Rosie's Crazy Dating Adventures, LOL. If it could happen to this girl, it did. Honestly, there were times I couldn’t believe that a 23 year old could be so naive about so many things, but it sure kept the story interesting. I loved Rosie's roommates Delaney and Henry. The three are best friends and share everything, and I mean everything. Get ready for some laughs and to be swooned.

This story is entertaining, heartwarming, and leaves a smile on your face.

- The Randy Romance Novelist –

Oh gosh, Rosie and Henry are so cute together. I loved getting to see them as a couple, their lives together, and what was to come for them. Rosie’s her quirky self and Henry is so sweet and patient. They’re a great couple. Such a fun, sweet story.

These books are hysterical! There were so many places that I'd find myself laughing so loudly and not caring where I was or who was seeing me! Great series. And the narration was top notch!

Hilarious....Please do not listen in Public!

This was a fun read. I can not emphasize please do not read this in public..it is hilarious. The chronicles of a Virgin Naive 23 year old woman that is experiencing alot of bad luck and funny episodes while venturing into the world of relationships and popping the cherry. They could not have hired the best narrator for this book. Andi Arndt was amazing. Rosie and Henry were hilarious and had so much chemistry but couldn't figure out how to get together and date. Delaney was hilarious with all her comments. The descriptions of all the sexual positions or body parts were to die for. This book gets you hooked and baited and you can't stop until you listen till the end. It's nice how we see the friendships evolve into something true and special.

Mixed Feelings: Hilarious / Absurd

I started out loving Book One in Meghan Quinn's Virgin Romance Novelist Chronicles. It was uproariously funny. Never mind the fact that it was completely unrealistic in that the heroine suddenly had all these diverse dating experiences all at once after never having had any, and she was always annoying naive. I have never burst out laughing so many times or laughed so hard at a romance novel. This girl’s misadventures in dating are so ill-fated they make me gladder than ever I’m in a long-term relationship. Of course there's a lack of communication that leads to heartache, but in this case I could kind of understand why each person was in the headspace he/she was in.

Book Two really pissed me off though. Her behavior spiraled to absurd extremes. No woman I have ever known in this situation has EVER reacted anywhere close to this. The portrayal overshot comical and hit pathetic. She lost all her relatability in this scenario.

Book Three was super short for some reason. I would have loved some more of the happily ever after part of the story. It definitely made some on point observations about parenthood.

One big criticism is of the female best friend, Delaney. She is an AWFUL friend. She is selfish and self-centered. She gives terrible advice, pushes Rosie way too far out of her comfort zone, and tries to convince her that Henry is still a cad yet acts all incredulous when Rosie actually takes her warnings to heart. The whole time I just couldn't help thinking that Dirk was way too good for her.

Funny!<br />

I loved this book, it was funny and I laughed so hard. I hated to put it down. The narrator really made the book all the better for her inflections.
I can't wait to read more of her books.
