About this listen

I didn’t fall into a place of wonder and madness. I was taken.

This world is a perfect, enchanting wonderland. The people here are just as alluring. But we all have our secrets. Like the white rabbit who’s leading a rebellion right under the king’s nose. Or the sweet March Hare who’s actually an enemy spy. Or my one true ally in all of this, a killer who’s so feared they won’t even say his real name.

As for me, I have more secrets than all of them combined. Because Wonderland is waiting for the beloved Alice Liddell. And I’m just the bitch pretending to be her.

This is a complete reverse harem box set including all three books: Into the Madness, Within the Wonder, and Under the Lies. Recommended for listeners 18 and over.

Part 1

Ouch, that ending!

FMC is a human 20 year old virgin, she's not had an easy life, and she's now alone. Her recent diagnosis adds to it all, and she just wants a break! The opening chapter is hilarious, by the way, and yea, that kind of shit can and does happen... the Guy and leg bit... not the going to wonderlust bit.

We meet 3 handsome men in wonderland, well there are more but these 3 are the MMCs. The different ships she develops with them, their different character traits, and unravelling pasts and current positions in this plot make for a strong character build in just the 1st book. By the end, I want to hate one, hug one, and slap one... you will see.

The politics of the world, the side characters, the glimpses, and twists make for a fun read. The spice is high and steamy, and when we get smex, it's hot 🔥

Overall, I need more, back into wonderlust I go!

Part 2

Oh, a whole lot happens. And it's hard to work out what is going on. They only thing we know is wonderland isn't wonderful... it's filled with secrets, twists, and power-hungry people...hatters

The relationships between FMC and MMCs are the best in this book. It's the working out what their relationship is, and I love it. It's so frustrating to work out without a supernatural bond to shove them together it's very much realistic for a land filled with unrealistic wonder! It's choas, and it's actually done very well.
And in more spice and...well, that rabbit has stamina 🔥 🥵

Part 3

The book felt too short, and for me, it messed with the flow of the events. It's disappointing as it feels like pages have been cut out of the book and quickly stuck together with an abrupt transition between events.
At one point, I was convinced the audio was faulty, so I wasted customer service time, making them listen and check it. Then I checked the written version and had to go back and apologise because of a rubbish transition in the book so abrupt it felt broken.

The thing is, the book isn't bad. It gave me feels, I cried at one point! But it's like a short review of the best scenes with no follow-up in places or lead to major events.
There is spice, there is smut and it is hot... but it felt like a...oops missed a guy, or let's drop some smex in here moment instead of what I thought it would be, diluting the passion.
There are cosy heartwarming bits, even covered in blood or in the midst of a rescue. Some really sweet words from the scariest of characters made me awwwww so hard I forgot to breathe sometimes.

There is some action and more twists. But I wish we could have explored the world more. Explained more...what the *ll did the real Alice do and how...why... what happened to the twins. Who opened up the rip to earth again....

Anyway, it was still a good read, 3.4 stars

Funny, cosy, thrilling but too short
