About this listen

There’s a secret in Abernay Forest, one that allows Doctor Taur to create miraculous cures. When his talents reach the king’s ears, he is called to the castle, where he meets Prince Oswin and is asked to perform an impossible procedure. As he struggles to decide what to do, the castle is attacked and the king slaughtered. The prince, now in danger, sneaks Taur out and they flee.

Meanwhile, an orphaned girl named Luna spies interlopers in Abernay Forest excavating an ancient entombed creature—the source for Taur’s cures. Aware that the creature harbors a dangerous otherworlder, Luna tries to halt the excavation. But it’s too late. The wraithlike otherworlder goes free…and enters Luna, taking over her body.

Fugitives Taur and Oswin must find her before she releases a deadly plague from another world.

I have enjoyed this book. Well written. Thankyou W.K.Greyling for the opportunity to listen to your book. Narrator was easy to listen too. Many twists and turns, Doctor Taur was a likable. From a doctor living a comfortable life to a man having to face many challengers with Prince Oswin to save a themselves, and young girl and the world. I am secretly hoping for a second book.

Riveting story.

I’ve listened to many of W.K. Greyling’s work and it’s always made me wish my commute was sometimes longer. Another fascinating story which has been left wide open to book two, hopefully. I look forward to reading of Tor and Oswyn’s journey in the future.

Honest review for free download. I genuinely enjoyed the story. The idea for the plot was brilliant and the characters were likeable. I enjoyed following the characters on their journey and watching them develop. However, I felt the editing was poor as there was little division between chapters and it was often difficult to tell when the characters changed. As a UK listener, the narration wasn’t for me as I found it difficult to tell some characters apart and found the accents laughable. I still recommend the book as the story is really enjoyable.

The Aure books are amongst my favourite by W. K. Greyling.

Perhaps I listened to this in a different way to the intended one, however, as I loved the adventures of Taur and Oswin but thought of the Vessel story mainly as an interesting diversion from the civil war.

Both parts of the story could be developed further, too, so I wonder if there will be a sequel.

The narrator of this book also seemed to do a considerably better job than the previous ones, and his accent was easier on British ears, whilst remaining suggestive of a different, but very understandable, World.

Taur has so much going on from one drama to the next and keeping secrets along the way too.
This medievil novel will show you the stigma of females and there place in that time along with fatal diseases of that time. Friendships and love are needed to help Turin on this adventure
