Summary

Their troubled past behind them, married couple, Rob and Louise, visit Venice for the first time together, looking forward to a relaxing weekend. Not just a romantic destination, it's also the most haunted city in the world and soon, Louise finds herself the focus of an entity she can't quite get to grips with - a veiled lady who stalks her.

After marrying a young Venetian doctor, Enrico Sanuto, Charlotte moves from England to Venice, full of hope for the future. Home though is not in the city; it's on Poveglia, in the Venetian lagoon, where she is set to work in an asylum, tending to those that society shuns. As the true horror of her surroundings reveals itself, hope turns to dust.

From the labyrinthine alleys of Venice to the twisting, turning corridors of Poveglia, their fates intertwine. Vengeance only waits for so long.

.

boring story and robotic performance. I tried to like it but feel I've just wasted an hour of my life.

Brilliant!

I absolutely loved this! Was abit of a gamble after reading the other reviews i was nearly put off but i needed a new author and these looked promising with plenty of collections to explore.I loved the story, good old fashioned ghost story. Not all blood gore, demonds and stupid voices but a proper story....i couldn't stop listening and the end didn't disappoint....i cant wait to start the next in the haunted series.......Hugely recommended!👍

Appalling rubbish

Terrible narration, sounds like someone trying to do an English accent and failing. Badly written trashy novel, l returned it before the end of the first chapter.

Great read.

I find that Shani Struthers is an amazing author. The way the author writes paranormal, haunted novels, I could listen to the narrator and these books all day long.

A good story spoiled for me by the narration

Having listened to all of the Psychic Surveys narrated so well by Shelia Dearden, I found this narrator extremely harsh on the ears, I found it difficult decipher her pronunciation on several occasions as she spoke with an accent that I am not familiar with a mixture almost of Irish/US.

What a slog! Avoid!

I usually love Shani Struthers’ books but this one is woeful! I have not been able to suffer through to the end. The narrator is terrible, the story is extremely boring and I actively disliked all the characters. This was such a waste of a good credit. Please, do not bother AT ALL.

Another great story

I was gutted when i had listened to all the Psychic Surveys trilogy. Then came across more Shani Struthers books th
e reason i have only given 4 stars isthe narrator just wasnt for me fot this story but she had a lovely reading voice also gave 3 stars as it kept skipping a few sentences of the beginning of mist of the chapters i tryed rewarding and trying different listening devices and still skipped the same place also it do this at the begings mid sentence and repeated it self as though it was skipping.

Another great read

I loved the book but I wasn’t keen on the narrator’s pronunciation of certain words……darkter (doctor), theeter (theatre). It was quite annoying but the storyline made up for it

Excellent

Brilliant spooky story! Narrator is great too.
I loved the build up then the central tale which weaves into the ending & grows the tension & just grabs you!
Very tingling & tension building throughout if I'm honest.
Such a different spooky tale & definitely worth listening to or reading
Thank you
