Summary

Really ???!!!!!
This book started well but got very long on the back story in the middle and then lost the plot at the end which was TOTALLY ridiculous.
Some of the characters just disappeared, others were repainted - really not good at all and very disappointing from an author like Val McDermid.

gripping!
I really enjoyed the way that the story was told and I felt really invested in their lives. I did guess the end but only because I've read so many of these types of book. definitely recommend!

Great story shame about the edit
Val, stunning as ever but disappointed by the lack of professionalism. Not the voice artists fault. Sloppy editing. Phrasing mistakes left in and also "throat clearing.". Could have been better.

Great Book
This is my first experience of the writing of Val McDermid and I have already downloaded my next book by her. I enjoy listening to audio books when I am walking my dogs and I absolutely enjoyed this book and all the twists in it. I agree with other reviewers that the end was a bit rushed and have not given 5 stars for this reason. Nevertheless I could not have predicted the conclusion of this book and was bowled over by the cleverness of this writer. At times I could not wait to listen to the next part and was a little sad to be reaching the end of the book. Highly recommended.

Not VM Best
Oh dear what a disappointment. This book started so well, then became quite tedious. Followed by a pretty silly ending. I’m a great fan of VM, but sorry Val this wasn’t your best.

Amazing unseen twists!
Another brilliant book by this talented author! I was instantly pulled into the story, feeling the characters emotions. The twists in the plot grab you and pull you even deeper, I felt like I was there in the book!! Bloody brilliant!!
