Summary
Daniel Clay, a once-respected psychiatrist, has been missing for years following revelations about harm done to the children in his care. Believing him dead, his daughter Rebecca has tried to come to terms with her father's legacy, but her fragile peace is about to be shattered. Someone is asking questions about Daniel Clay, someone who does not believe that he is dead: the revenger Merrick, a father and a killer obsessed with discovering the truth about his own daughter's disappearance. Private detective Charlie Parker is hired to make Merrick go away, but Merrick will not be stopped. Soon Parker finds himself trapped between those who want the truth about Daniel Clay to be revealed, and those who want it to remain hidden at all costs.
But there are other forces at work here. Someone is funding Merrick's hunt, a ghost from Parker's past. And Merrick's actions have drawn others from the shadows, half-glimpsed figures intent upon their own form of revenge, pale wraiths drifting through the ranks of the unquiet dead. The Hollow Men have come….

Unquiet
Connolly is a master story teller, Parker is a work or character genius, Jeff Harding is the best story teller I've ever heard.

Fantastic storyline, impecable performance
Yet another masterpiece by Connolly, I just cannot have enough of the dark and twisted intricate plots and which ywt remain realistically humane. I love the complexity of his characters and the time he allocates in dipicting each and every one of them so picturesquely poetic. Well done!

Stunning rendition by Jeff Harding.
A stunning rendition by Jeff Harding of a darkly constructed mystery by John Connolly. Brings a new and emotive interpretation to a narrative master of the Crime genre.

Another brilliant addition
Incredibly well written and performed yet again, the detail of the places and characters keep you invested in this series of books and chomping at the bit to start the next.

Superb - just as expected.
Another great installment in this series from John Connelly, and again, a great performance. Jeff Harding IS the voice of Charlie Parker.

Another classic
Enjoyed this book enormously, Jeff Harding brings Charlie Parker alive, he marches the voice I have in my head as I have read all the series, I have trouble accepting the way Angel speaks but everyone has the characters speaking differently in their head, looking forward to listening to the next,

Gotta love the Bird!
Connolly and Harding make the perfect thriller cocktail. Excellent story and characters, coupled with a great sense of place. I'll almost certainly follow this series through to the bitter end.

An uncomfortable reality leaking into nightmares
Would you consider the audio edition of The Unquiet to be better than the print version?
There's nothing in it for when I read a John Connolly book I do so hearing Jeff Harding
What did you like best about this story?
The multi layered plot that is very gradually woven into a pattern ... the anticipation you are seduced into almost without knowing what direction the writer will take next
What about Jeff Harding’s performance did you like?
The depth and gravitas he lends to characters - the sound colours he charges each scene, each character with...male or female. The man has a genius for story telling with a voice that has a certain timbre John Connolly's books need.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
You have to savour the entire story to get a charge and no one moment can do that. You can't appreciate a building by studying a single brick.
