Summary

A wonderfully witty and gorgeously romantic story of facing your fears and falling in love, for fans of Sophie Kinsella, Marian Keyes and Rosie Walsh.

Sally is an incredible singer, but nobody has ever heard her. The thought of singing in public fills her with dread.

But then something happens one summer which changes everything.

No longer able to hide in the shadows, Sally must return home to London to fulfil a promise she cannot break - to share her voice.

But just when she's ready to start her new life, a beautiful man turns up on Sally's doorstep with a sheepish smile and a mysterious hand-written message.

How did he find her and why is he here?

Does he hold the truth to what happened back in New York?

And will she still have the courage to step into the spotlight?

Amazingly brilliant book.

Such an enjoyable book. Characters we can all relate to. Loved all of it. Laughed, smiled, cried, wanted it to never end.

Lots of twists

Nice story line, easy to listen to, well read with lots of twists and turns. Something a little different subject wise, with mix of family and the arts. I will defenatlety read this authors books again.

Dear god!

Why didn’t anybody listen to this person reading this before it was published?
Dreadful, inaccurate accents were like fingernails down a blackboard, I couldn’t get past the second chapter. Ruined! Which is a shame because Lucy Robinson‘s books are generally very entertaining and full of laughs. I wasn’t laughing this time. Returned the book.

A bit to obvious

Nice story but just a bit to obvious, even for a holiday read. It also felt like two different people wrote this book or the editor had a ghost role!

I wanted it to be good

I had such high hopes for this story, the premise sounded great and I’ve heard only good things about the author.

4 hours in and I’ve decided to draw a line under it. Unfortunately this story is very drawn out and lacks steady pacing. So often I found myself thinking “I get it, move on” as the writer tirelessly re-emphasised the same character traits over and over again.

I’d give this one a miss but I am somewhat hopeful that if you do power through, it gets better towards the end.

Uninspiring and over narrated.

So much so I only managed to listen to a few chapters. Not my kind of book.

Stourbridge accent was dreadful!!!

I looked forward to listening to this story, however the supposed Stourbridge accent was appalling , it was more of someone coming from the Liverpool area, and I couldn't cope with it !!
