Like The Reading List this is such a heartwarming story about community, friendship and shared joy. A lovely summer read with characters that lift off the page.

I enjoyed the story but did not like the odd way some of the sentences were read - almost as if the narrators were not listening to themselves reading - they appeared to put pauses into some sentences in completely the wrong places and the intonation was made to sound wrong somehow. I can't give exact examples but there were many and by more than one narrator. It made me wonder whether a real person was reading the text. Or am I just old fashioned in not wanting an electronic voice to read to me?

Nice story

Absolutely love Sara Nisha Adams. Her style is so easy to fall in line with. This story was full of highs and lows and you really feel the anguish that the characters are experiencing, as well as their joy!

I smiled all the way through!
