First re-read in 20 years

The Tulip Touch was a book that always stuck out to me from school (about 10 years old) and I was pleasantly and astonished to rediscover the themes of the book, much darker than I remembered. Rula Lenska is an unusual choice of narrator especially since when the book begins she is 8 years old. But you can certainly gain an insight into protagonist Natalie's social class and the difference between her and Tulip. And the story is written in a reflective way so it could be believable that she is reflecting as an adult. Lenska's voice is mesmorising and once you get past the fact that she's a child in the beginning, is a wonderful narrator. It's a haunting remembrance to the book I read in school.

Heartfelt, touching story❤️

A heartfelt, touching story about two young girls with many differences. Natalie has lived in a hotel all her life, one day she meets Tulip. Tulip is a dangerous girl with a terrifying past, she is treated badly, so she rebels. Tulip encourages Natalie to do some horrific things, but will Natalie be lured in by Tulips manipulative ways, or will she leave Tulip and set herself up for a good life. This book constantly made me feel so many different emotions, and I always wanted to continue reading. Five stars❤️❤️
