entertaining enough

Narrator was good, except forthe female child's voice, that was extremely grating . Story was engaging but would have been twice as good if it had been half as long. Went on and on.

I love and will read the whole series.

This book is an instant favorite with me and I intend to read the complete series all 15 books. Jack is an instantly likeable character and I like the supernatural theme in these books.

F. Paul Wilson has a writing style I really enjoy and the narration was very good.

Amazing book/story

No wonder I've read this a few times. Nice to hear it this time. How I love the Adversary Cycle. Made me want to listen to all the Repairman Jack books now as well! That's my year sorted on Audio then! Onwards to the Touch.

A tale of mystery, suspense, revenge, etc...

I absolutely loved this story and I cannot wait to listen to the next Repairman Jack audio books. I just wish The Keep was on here because I would love to get stuck into the Adversary cycle too. 10/10, 5 star all the way. I thoroughly recommend this to anyone who is in to mystery, suspense, supernatural or horror and even action.

Loved it!

I have to start by saying that I didn't immediately take to this book. The first hour or so of the book had me thinking it was just another throw away, cheesy, modern noire novel, full of cliché and pomp. However, I am glad I kept with it because it doesn't take long for this book to grow on you... then eventually completely capture you. By the end, I had been totally won over and was so into it that I was finding any excuse to make time to listen to it. The story feels fresh and engaging, the characters are likeable, well developed and the dialogue is superb.

The narrator does a great job, barring his European accents... as a Scotsman myself, I had to cringe at the part with a 19th century Scottish soldier!!!

If you want an entertaining piece of modern fantasy with plenty of action and an engaging plotline... This is for you.
