A stunning thriller from the bestselling author of Scrublands and Treasure & Dirt.

A man runs for his life in a forest.
A woman plans sabotage.
A body is unearthed.

Newly-minted homicide detective Nell Buchanan returns to her home town, annoyed at being assigned a decades-old murder - a 'file and forget'.

But this is no ordinary cold case, as the discovery of more bodies triggers a chain of escalating events in the present day. As Nell starts to join the pieces together, she begins to question how well she truly knows those closest to her. Could her own family be implicated in the crimes?

The nearer Nell comes to uncovering the secrets of the past, the more dangerous the present becomes for her, as she battles shadowy assailants and sinister forces. Can she survive this harrowing investigation and what price will she have to pay for the truth?

Gripping and atmospheric, The Tilt is a stunning multi-layered novel by the acclaimed and award-winning author of the international bestsellers Scrublands, Silver, Trust and Treasure & Dirt.

Amazing book in every way. Couldn't stop listening. Going on to the next book in the series straightaway! 👍👍👍

This is a superb, complex thriller. The story spans generations and concentration is required to keep track of the various characters and timelines.
The effort is rewarded with a great story, well written.
WARNING: I enjoyed The Tilt so much I immediately purchased the next book in the series ‘Dead Man’s Creek’ only to find that it is the same book. I don’t know if it’s a mistake by Audible, or if the book has been renamed, but I got an instant refund, so no complaints.

Apparently different title for different territories, I realised I was listening to a story I’d heard previously. Whichever title you buy, it is excellent, just don’t buy both as I did! Disappointed now that I have no new Chris Hammer to listen to…

Same book as “Dead Man’s Creek”

Although the book is brilliant I wish I hadn’t wasted my credit on a duplicate book!! It’s a shame Audible can’t somehow warn that it is the same book but under a different title with a different narrator.

Beware is the same book as Dead Man’s Creek

If you're a fan of crime and mystery tales this is another atmospheric Aussie winner from Chris Hammer. The characters are well drawn and believable and the back and forth narrative through time sets the scene beautifully without plot spoilers. Recommended.
