Awful Narrator

Narrator/reader is bland, unemotional, and a relatively annoying nasal sound to his voice. I have read these stories in hard copy, and the story line is fantastic; arguably one of the most iconic and exciting classical fiction series ever written. However, the narrator is so boring that I have deleted this book from my handheld device, and consider it a waste of a credit from my Audible account.

This Title Performs & Is Set Up Poorly

I love the classic stories by Alexandre Dumas of The Three Musketeers, The Man in the Iron Mask and The Count of Monte Cristo. I thought these would be great for my SPED high school class, so I ordered the 3-book bundle. This was a huge mistake. The recording performs poorly, cuts out in places, as well as having no bookmarks for the beginning or ending of the novels. I know that the first 2 are tied together, but The Count of Monte Cristo is an unrelated story. I should not have to listen to both the first 2 books in thier entirety to find the beginning of the 3rd book. It is for this reason that I will be returning this set for full credit/refund.

Good value for money

Considering that for one credit you get over 100 hours of narration, I don’t regret this purchase, even with its flaws (the recording is not the highest quality, the narrator obviously doesn’t speak Italian and the accent is exaggerated and somewhat comical).
If you want to start listening from the Count of Monte Cristo, go directly to Chapter 132 (in Part 5, about 3 hours and 34 minutes from the end of Part 5).
The translation is the same as the 3 Unabridged Classic Kindle Edition, 99 cents for over 4000 pages. It was nice to go back and forth between Audible and Kindle, for a very reasonable price.

One of the best readings of the count of monte cristo!

The reader captures the flavor of Dumas. Characters are rich with feeling and emotion so real that is transports you there and touches your heart

Highly recommended!

Loved these books, I never knew the 3 musketeers other than cartoons & short tv skits.. and never knew the man in the iron mask was its sequel. Both books were great in story and detail. Was disappointed in the wrap up of the man in iron mask. "Count of Monte Cristo" was my favorite of the 3 books! great story, plot twists, memorable characters, and a fitting end. the story carried the listener through emotional highs and lows with the characters. both Readers do an Excellent Job!

Two out of three aint bad

Love the Musketeers and their adventures. The Narration was wonderful. Unfortunately I can not say the same about The Count. The accents he tries to pull off take away so much from the story it was very hard to listen to. 30 minutes in and I had lost interest. It was very difficult to overcome the accent attempts. I think that the french sounded too English and the Castilians sounded Italian. So you get two wonderful stories and one I personally could not finish. The stories are classic. Too bad the Narration on the last story was not up to par. I think it was trying too hard. Not lack of effort.
