Summary

When her friends from the Tuesday Night Club visit Miss Marple's house, the conversation often turns to unsolved crimes. Trying to solve these 13 mysteries are Raymond West, a young writer; the artist Joyce Lemprière; Dr Pender, the clergyman, who claims to know the hidden side of human character; Mr Petherick, a lawyer who is only interested in the logical approach; and Sir Henry Clithering, whose experience as commissioner of Scotland Yard speaks for itself. Then, of course, there is Miss Marple, who has observed enough about human nature to be more than a match for the most perspicacious investigator.

"The plots are so good that one marvels...most of them would have made a full-length thriller." (Daily Mirror)

The Thirteen Problems

Highly entertaining Miss Marple book with a whole range of diverse problems being presented for Miss Marple (and the listener) to attempt to solve...although however diverse the problems might be they obviously have their solution in village life!

More like The Nine Problems...

I loved the stories. The only problem was that the last four stories were the same as the first four. Disappointed as I was looking forward to more great stories from Agatha Christie.

A super set of stories narrated by the best.

If you could sum up The Thirteen Problems in three words, what would they be?

Thirteen well structured short mysteries.

What other book might you compare The Thirteen Problems to, and why?

Death By Drowning-same series.

What about Joan Hickson’s performance did you like?

Her diction and her ability to read the characters as they were written-without an absurd sense of 'modern irony'.

Enjoyable short stories

Always good stories but there needs to be a bit of a gap between the announcement of the next story as got. Infused a couple of times.

Classic stories of perspicacity

These are great stories read by one of the best Miss Maples herself.
Only negative is that there needs to be a short pause between the end of one account and the title of the next. As it is currently it sounds like the last person speaking in a story suddenly says something entirely random.

Are you as good as Miss Marple?

Your told the stories in such a way that you can pretend to be a member of the Tuesday night club. Can you work out what happened, before Miss Marple tells you the answer.
