Kyle Mills Has Done an Excellent Job.

After reading the reviews both here and on other websites, I had an idea of whether this book was going to be similar to Vince Flynn's other Mitch Rapp novels. I'm happy to say that I agree with the reviews, and that I think that Kyle Mills has done Vince Flynn proud. It must have taken a lot of research to get this book to the point that you notice almost no difference in writing styles compared to Flynn's other novels.
I loved the storyline, and as always, the characters, especially Mitch Rapp and Irene Kennedy. George Guidall has done a great job as always, in bringing the characters to life. If you are a Vince Flynn fan, you'll love The Survivor.
I hope that Kyle Mills gets to continue the Mitch Rapp series. From this book, it is clear that it would be in great hands.
Vince Flynn will be missed, but I like to think that he would agree that Kyle Mills has done an excellent job, and that he would like the Mitch Rapp series to continue in his capable hands. RIP Vince.

good story

Not sure why all the characters names have to be so similar, it causes confusion.

Initially unsure but a really good listen

Where does The Survivor rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I was very unsure about getting this book as I was a real fan of Vince Flynn and did wonder if it was possible to do justice to his fabulous characters and to imitate his intricate plots, but I have to say that I was pleased with the results of this effort.

What did you like best about this story?

I liked the twists and turns of the story and the well-defined characters though Marcus seems to have undergone a bit of a puzzling personality change. Overall though I thought that the book was good and the performance excellent.

Which character – as performed by George Guidall – was your favourite?

Irene Kennedy. Some reason from the very first book I have always imagined her as resembling Condoleeza Rice, though I am aware her description in the books does not suggest this in any way, I am alway amazed at how he can paint a picture of the different characters by changing his voice, regardless of the sex, age or temperament.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes, but then I always do with an intriguing and fast paced thriller. A perfect book for a winter evening with a good fire and a nice glass of wine.

Any additional comments?

I am a huge Vince Flynn fan so I was a bit sceptical that this book was up to my expectations and would be a proper homage to the original creator of these colourful characters, however, I did enjoy the book and think it is well up to standard, no small feat in my opinion. I think that keeping the same narrator was exactly right and helped to give the feeling of continuity. Overall I am eagerly awaiting another Mitch Rapp book.

Rapp is Back

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes, I would recommend this book. The death of Vince Flynn bought the Mitch Rapp series to a premature end, but this is nearly as good as the original stories.

Who was your favorite character and why?

MItch Rapp is the central character and the book revolves around him. There are various other characters from the previous novels that make an appearance including the irascible Stan Hurley.

Have you listened to any of George Guidall’s other performances? How does this one compare?

I think that George Guidall is an excellent narrator all round and this is as good as any of his other works.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

There are some good action moments that are heart-stopping but it would spoil the story to reveal them here.

Any additional comments?

I am glad that we get to see Mitch Rapp again and hope that Kyle Mills continues to keep the series alive.

Fantastic

If you could sum up The Survivor in three words, what would they be?

Kyle Mills has managed to pull it off! I'm so pleased the Mitch Rapp series will carry on where Vince sadly left off

Another perfectly read Vince Flynn/Mitch Rapp performance by George Guidall... George makes the stories visual as you listen and is a true master in his craft... Thank you George... You are a true craftsman!
