I listened to this as part of a group choice for book group.
The start was promising and the Moroccan setting was different but the characters weren't that believable or well depicted and the plot dragged.

I really enjoyed this book. Interesting setting and very compelling characters and storyline. Had me hooked.

This was a decent thriller sort of book. Not really a murder mystery in that solving it with provided clues isn't really part of the book. It was a quick read and, despite both point of view characters being fairly unsympathetic, I enjoyed it. In a lot of ways it felt similar to The Beach by Alex Garland and I wouldn't be surprised if Clarke drew inspiration from that. 3.5 stars rounded down for no particular reason.
