The Sunny Side is another great romantic comedy, with a side of serious, by Lily Morton. Jonas Durand is way too serious all of the time. Super model Dean Jacobs helps to lighten him up and Jonas isn’t sure what’s hit him.
I loved everything about this book. I even loved it when Jonas was a complete a-hole because I knew that he would eventually realize what a jerk he’d been to Dean and then come groveling. Jonas’ daughter, Ruby, is a gem and she added a lot to this story.
The Sunny Side is a thoroughly enjoyable grumpy/sunshine story. I LOL’d more than once while listening to it and had to stop and play portions out loud for my hubby because he wanted to know what was so funny. I’m looking forward to reading more in this series. I hope that Pip gets his own book!

I enjoyed this story. I didn't love it but it was ok. I found it much less humorous than other Lily books but it still had it's moments. One particular part made me cackle laugh in public, oops lol. It wasn't overly sweet but again it had its moments. I absolutely loved Deans character. He was so sweet. On the other hand was harder to love with his grumpyness, pessimistic attitude and his treatment of Dean. This made for not really feeling much chemistry and sparks between the 2. The little girl comes in near the end and saves the day from otherwise lackluster plot. I absolutely loved her and would have liked her to play a bigger part of the book. This book was steamy after a nice realistic slow burn but it lacked the sweetness I loved in Lilys others books. I did however really enjoy the ending and epilogue but founf that the added angst thrown in near the end was just thrown in for agnst sake and it just frustrated me and was completely unnecessary. One thing i loved was that there was great world building and wonderful side characters that I personally were more interested in.
Joel Leslie did a wonderful performanc. He expressed all the emotions and brought the story to life. He made it s pleasant listening experience for an otherwise uneventful story. His accents are very convincing and he gave each of the characters distinct voices that suited each of them perfectly. It made the story very easy to follow.

I listened to this in audiobook format and Joel Leslie did the most unbelievable job, swapping seamlessly between multiple different accents. He's incredibly talented and I highly recommend the audio.
I also very much enjoyed the book itself. This book is mostly funny and low angst, but there were plenty of bits I found utterly heartbreaking, especially Dean's lack of confidence. The only reason this isn't a 5 star is because there was a section near the beginning that felt a tiny bit slow, but apart from that it was an amazing book. This was my first Lily Morton book but it absolutely won't be my last, I enjoyed it very much and will be reading more.

Dean was the kindest most wonderful person. Full of joy and love, pure sunshine. I loved his character.
Jonas was wonderful too and I loved how he took care of Dean and defended him. There was a part that his actions upset me but I could understand where he was coming from and he made it better in the end so I forgive him.
And Ruby, Jona's daughter, was the cutest!
I loved reading Deam and Jonas' journey to their happily ever after!
The narrator was brilliant and brought the story and the characters to life beautifully.
