Summary

When her husband dies in a tragic accident, Antoinette's world falls apart. He was her rock and the man she thought she knew better than she knew herself. But as she arrives at the church for George's funeral, she sees an unfamiliar woman. Phaedra loved George too, and could not bear to stay away from his funeral. As she sits before his wife, she knows that what she is about to reveal will change their lives forever….

Challenging story-line

I have enjoyed the story so far but the narration is awful and absolutely ruins the characterisation. I could not bear to listen to it again.

loved this story, kept my interest right to the end. Well written and brilliantly performed. Highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a bit more than a chic flick!

Sorry to leave the characters

A lovely easy listen . Just nice to relax without having to think too much ! Despite this the story had twists which kept the interest . Perhaps a little rushed at the end but nice listen nevertheless. Was sorry to say goodbye to the family ... could there be Frampton sequel 😃

Easy and entertaining read

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes, it has enough tension to keep the pages turning

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Summer House?

the exposure of the main character's real relationship to the family

Which scene did you most enjoy?

The above

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

no

Any additional comments?

Montefiore's characterisation is good and I appreciate a new plot in each of her books rather than an old one in new clothes

Wonderful!

Santa Monifiore is excellent yet again! The imagery is amazing. The narrator - Tara Ward really makes the book, I could listen to this narrator forever!

Narration detracted from the plot

It was a battle to reach the end of the book thanks to poor narration. Better to have a number of narrators rather than one who did a poor job of voicing multiple characters - and the doctors was particularly unbelievable.

Disappointing

Found it protracted and predictable.
Earlier stories were more to my liking. Narration irritating ,strident occasionaly.
