This companion to poison study is an incredible addition, with the original story being viewed from Valek's point of view. The way Maria intertwined the two stories is inspiring and makes you fall even more in love with this series. The comedy, the action, the friendships are second to non for me within the fantasy genre. Suitable for older children and adults alike, this series remains a firm favourite of mine.

I have been a huge fan of Maria V Snyder's books and have always gone back to them over the years. I have all the books and series but then started to get them on Audible, it was like reading/ listening to them all over again. When Maria swapped the narrater over, I was sceptical at first but fell in love all over again, he got this spot on and found I was on the edge of my seat (sunbed) the whole time.
I have never really been able ro truly relax and stay put on holiday but this is the first time I have got a proper tan as I was so engrossed with this book and found it easy to listen to.

I remember reading poison study years ago. it was one of mine and my best friends favourite. Then, to look online to see Valek version of events, let's say me and my friend got the book and audible book straight away.
I love the story line, the relationship between the characters and I definitely loved the banter between the Commander and Valek...
I would give it more stars, but limited to five. the narrator did a fantastic job with how he voiced each character and read it just how I would read it in my head.

The only problem with this book is that i now need the rest of the Chronicles of Ixia series from Valeks POV!! Please write more Maria!
