The Stars Have Left the Skies is a new mind-bending horror from beloved author Jonathan Janz

In this winter horror novel, billed as The Thing meets The Mist, a once-in-a-million-years cold snap has paralyzed the countryside. Temperatures have plunged to sixty-below-zero, snow has drifted ten feet high, communications are down, and food is running low. Ten strangers have taken refuge in a farmhouse, unaware that one of them is a vicious serial killer.

But something even more dangerous lurks outside. Extremophiles—organisms that only thrive in extreme conditions—have lain dormant in the soil for eons, but now the conditions are right for them to awaken. Not only are these beetles flesh-eating and tenacious, they possess a hive mind and mimic other organisms. Like humans.

And after a million-year rest, the beetles are hungry. They’ll do anything to lure prey into the snow, including using people’s fears and memories against them.
