Summary

The long-awaited audio edition of Peter Kay’s best-selling autobiography, The Sound of Laughter, including two completely new and exclusive bonus chapters.

Grab a brew and some good-for-dipping biscuits and listen to Peter take a trip down memory lane, including his first-ever driving lesson, his Bolton childhood, the numerous jobs he held, right up until he found fame in the world of comedy.

The Sound of Laughter observes the absurdities and eccentricities of family life: elderly relatives, garlic bread, cheesecake, weddings, funerals and your mum’s HRT...hear all about it from Peter, read live and direct from his own front room.

Peter Kay is one of Bolton’s funniest comedians. His first autobiography The Sound of Laughter still holds the record for biggest selling British hardback autobiography of all time. He’s won numerous BAFTA’s, National Television Awards for his TV work including Car Share and Phoenix Nights. As well as three number chart singles - and he holds the Guinness World Record for the biggest selling stand-up comedian of all time.

Genius….. simple as that

I have severely missed this guy in recent times and the world is a much better place for having some new media from him, I have only purchased today and have completed the book in one sitting,I loved every single minute of it and would give my right arm to meet him, he’s genuinely my hero, I have read the paper edition of the book but this is so much better having it put across in his own voice, he constantly breaks off and chats away from the book which is very very heartwarming indeed….. long live Peter Kay, I love you mate x

Superb

The additional anecdotes and Peter's personality shine through. Found myself laughing out loud many times so might not be suitable for the commute

Gold dust

Audiobooks are so much better when you get the author doing the narration. Hearing the man himself tell these brilliant stories is perfect. The ad lib bonus content is a really nice surprise too.

We don’t hear much from Peter Kay at the moment, this was really fun to listen to.

Thanks Peter.

Disappointing

Not great, there are some funny parts as she would expect from a brilliant comedian. His reading tone Isn’t great and it doesn’t reflect his really funny tones of voice and sheer brilliance when he is on the stage. I got to chapter 4 and that was quite a struggle. I know I will stick with it because he is such a great performer. I think I am existing on Hope
