About this listen
This box set contains Requiem of the Soul, Reparation of Sin, and Resurrection of the Heart and tells the complete story of Santiago De La Rosa and Ivy Moreno!
I was born with noble blood in my veins. Heir to a powerful dynasty. Wealth. Power. Aristocracy. Temptations too dangerous to resist. Until someone tried to steal it all. Scarred and broken, I emerged from the flames.
Now I’ve returned to take what’s mine. Revenge.
The first item on my agenda? Make Ivy Moreno my wife.
Second? Bend her until she breaks.

these books aren't going to be to everyone's liking. i have listened to many, many dark romance books so I know what to expect but these books push at the boundaries even I have set for myself when it comes to dubious consent and dominant and submissive relationships. The Society has little regard for women and there non existent rights, women are possessions to men who rule over them and do with them as they please. Santiago is cold hearted and his treatment of Ivy is abusive not only in their "dom/sub" relationship but as a husband also, treating her with unwarranted cruelty, distain and humiliation and had me wincing more than once. however there were also many times I rolled my eyes at Ivy's love for him as it reeks of Stockholm syndrome. she clings to the minimal amount of kindness he shows her. like many, i usually end up liking the anti hero in these books but for me there has been a disconnect with Santiago, with Ivy's forgiveness of him each and every time she suffers with no real apology or remorse from him for his actions.
while I understand we all enjoy these books because they are escapism from our own lives and it was that, for me, unfortunately for Santiago it was just too little too late, and while he will never become a book boyfriend, I will also never forget him either. Well written Ladies you did an excellent job, as too was the performance of this dynamic duo of narrators.
a dark romance

Santiago is cruel, apparently inhuman, thoroughly messed up in the head. He certainly puts Ivy through the wringer. But he is my new book boyfriend. I love how his pain, cruelty, honesty and tender heartedness are all smooshed up together, leaving poor Ivy totally confused.
Ivy is a bit of a wimp sometimes, lies through omission and doesn't read what is right in front of her. But she does try to stand up to Santiago. They are two messed up kids, trying to be adult. Could slap both of them.
This is so much better than the usual dark Mafia enemy-to-lovers trope. The Society is a bit off the wall, but hey, just love the twisted minds of Knight and Zavarelli. Great job ladies. I wonder if you can top this one.
The final accolade goes to the performers. 0h my god. Just wonderful. Could listen to them all day and through the night. Wen Ross' presentation of Ivy is a masterclass. Great rhythm, inflection, so expressive of emotion. Kai Kennicott has the best male character voice ever. I'd always listen to his work.
JUST WOW!

I have loved this trilogy and will be moving onto the next books following Mercedes and Judge.
Well done ladies and thank you for such imaginative and compelling writing.
Mind Blown but not for the delicate of mind type
