Summary

Sarah Garland, a retired homicide detective who's gone through a painful divorce, seems to have found her peace at last, as a coffeeshop owner in the sleepy (and freezing) small town of Snow Falls, Alaska. What she didn't expect was for her past life to catch up with her. Or for her new life as a mystery writer to inspire a deadly killer to target her.

Yet when the killer leaves a frightening clue - a creepy snowman, wearing a leather jacket and eating a peppermint candy cane, left in front of her cabin - Sarah begins to suspect Conrad Spencer, the new detective in town, who is pursuing a murderer of his own. Soon it becomes obvious that the sleuths would have to join forces in order to catch the killer. Sarah and Conrad must put their tragic pasts behind them and find out who's after her before the trail becomes frozen.

Let it snow.

This is a short story that I quite enjoyed. It did have its bad points the main one for me was the main character she was to wimpy to have been a cop, I could understand it if she had suffered a drama and was suffering post traumatic stress but she just left the police force because of a divorce. Her emotions were all over the place one minute she is afraid of a snowman and scared to leave the house, the next she is running to her car because it is to cold outside for anyone to still be out there. Other than that it is an interesting story and I think the series could have potential, especially if the detective tries to uncover his wife's killer and the main character grows more confident in herself.
Sarah is an ex cop and after a divorce has moved to Alaska to run a coffee shop and write novels. She is pleased to find out a friend Is coming to visit, until she finds a snowman outside her front door. The killer of her latest book used snowman to torment his victims before killing them. Has one of the criminals from her past caught up with her? Sarah must work out what are clues left deliberately by the killer as red herrings and what are real clues that could lead to identifying the stalker. With the help from a new detective in town who knows a little bit to much about Sarah's past she will have to find out how the stalker knew she was the author of the snowman killer series when no body else did. Not even her best friend.
The narrator was okay, not the best I have heard or the worst and once you got use to the voices you could tell each character apart.

Unable to listen to recording voices aweful

This is one of the worst recordings I have tried to listen to. Sheree’s are awful and totally ruined it I couldn’t listen to it. A total waste of money

A Killer Snowman

I liked this book. Sara is an exdetective from Los Angeles who has turned Murder Author that has moved to Alaska. Now it looks like someone from her past has found her and is using her books to threaten her or it may be a rabid fan. Anyways it's a good book. And will keep you guessing til the end. Talk about write your own demise!

A newly divorced woman, retired from her previous job as police detective, spends her days serving coffee in her coffee house and writing murder mysteries at night.
However, a crazed would-be killer targets her, by using the scenes from her own book.
With the help of her two friends, they attempt to work out who the perpetrator is.
It's a real hoot, and has a few moments of drama. An easy read.

Good

Sarah as an ex Homicide detective, wanting a quiet life in Alaska, and just writing books, and a coffee shop. Then she is seeing a crude snowman, that question and joining forces with the detective in this small town to find out why she is being targeted, Given audio for my voluntary review. Was good narration by Sheree

Elementary school novel

Written for young age and reading is TERRIBLE . Don’t waste your time. It is the most poorly done reading I have ever listened to.

So glad that I gave this novella a chance

You know what, I enjoyed The Snowman Killer a lot more than I thought I would.

While it was a short novella, I felt that the author did a sufficient job at building suspense from the first page - although I'd be lying if I said that the ending didn't feel a tiny bit rushed.

I was unsure of Sheree Wichard as the narrator at first, but after a while, I adjusted and felt that she did an above average job at telling the story.

As for the characters, there isn't a lot to report after the few hours I spent with them, other than to say that they grew on me; despite their early interactions being slightly awkward seeming.

Overall, I am incredibly glad that I took a chance on Wendy Meadows' The Snowman Killer. I hope that the rest of the Alaska Cozy Mystery Series comes to Audible in the near future.

The Snowman Killer

Sarah gives up her job as a detective in LA to become a mystery writer. She moves to Alaska to have a fresh start and focus on her writing. Everything is fine until she finds herself in the middle of a mystery... basically someone is acting out her latest murder mystery and she just may end up being the victim if she doesn’t solve it before it’s to late.

Definitely a great start to a new cozy mystery series. While the narration was well done, I wasn’t a fan of a few of the different character voices.

COOOLD BUT OH SO COZY MYSTERY :)

From LA to Alaska? That in and of itself deserves a medal! :) Wonderful cozy mystery, loved listening to it. Definitely entertaining :) Thought it was a well-written cozy and wonderfully narrated, I'd definitely recommend this to all cozy fans! It's still summer... right? :)

Cozy mystery

The narrator was not the best for this book. Some of the characters sounded funny but it did not really annoy me as much as it did others, I have listened to a lot worse.

As for the book, it wasn't too bad, I liked how they used logic to get to the answer but I found it really hard to believe that Detective Conrad left a lot of the thinking for Sarah to do since we know he is just as good as she is. I would have liked him to be more involved in theories, he left it all to Sarah. He acted like a detective who doesn't know what he is doing.
Other then this I actually liked it and that is why I gave it four stars.
I would recommend it to those who love short cozy mysteries.
There is no profanity/sexual content or violence (mild).

Cozy Mystery!

I really enjoyed this short book. I found the imagery to be really good and the narrator did a great job. Sheree Wichard performed the various characters with distinguishable voices. I thought the author Wendy Meadows really kept the suspense going and loved how the killer was revealed. This book is the beginning of a new series and I would definitely listen to more by both the author and narrator. I requested this review copy audiobook and have voluntarily written this review.
